my bad that this is so late it took me ages to think of a scenario LMAOO but grandekofi nation I’m happy to announce that we’re so back 🙂‍↕️ Two things for context: 1) this takes place in my vampire dame au and 2) Tia and Dame are dressed as the 10th doctor and a cyberman respectively lol

Dada sat on the couch of her and Tia’s apartment, some book she didn’t really care for in her hands as she tried to pass the time. It was some stupid historical fiction that wasn’t even close to accurate, but she supposed not everyone had the chance to live through the regency era. She never understood why Tia was so fascinated with tales of the past, but she was happy to indulge her nonetheless. Which is why she was currently sitting on their couch dressed as…the tin man?

“Tia!” She calls towards their bedroom. “Mon amour, we’re going to be late!”

“One second! I just have to put my mascara on!” Tia called back, before a clattering came from the bathroom. Dame softly chuckled as she listened to Tia scrambling around. “Okay! Close your eyes!”

“Is this really necessary?” She asked, but closed her eyes as she was told.

“Absolutely.” Tia replied, and Dame could hear her stepping closer. “Alright, you can open them. What do you think?”

She opens her eyes to see Tia in front of her, proudly showing off her costume. She was dressed in a long brown trench coat, with a white button up, a red tie, and a blue pinstripe dress underneath. A very short dress. Dame’s breath hitched at the sight of her, her eyes dragging up and down her body.

“You look ravishing.”

“Dame…” she blushes, a shy smile appearing on her face. She then pulls something from behind her back, a silver headpiece that Tia had obviously put together herself. “Oh! I made this for your costume, so it’s accurate.”

Tia stepped closer to her as she placed the headpiece on her, Dame wrapping her arms around her girlfriend’s waist. “Thank you, love. Now I’m the perfect…er…tin man?”

“Cyberman.” Tia corrects her with a giggle. “But I do suppose they look similar.”

Dame pulls her onto her lap by her tie, hungrily licking her lips. “I never got to properly thank you for handling our costumes…how rude of me. I should make it up to you.” She mumbles against Tia’s skin as she presses kisses against her neck.

“I thought we were going to be late?” Tia teases her as she caresses Dame’s face.

“I suppose we can be fashionably late.” She grins, pulling her forward again by the tie as their lips crash together. Dame’s hands wander up her thighs as she nips at Tia’s lips hungrily — she wasn’t sure if she’d be able to pull away in a few moments. Perhaps they’d be a little more than fashionably late…

“Why am I even invited to the wedding?”

“See, it’s a funny story,” Tia says quickly. “After we broke up, Marina took this new job in Cambridge. So she and Hannah live there now. And I’ve been so busy at work that I haven’t really talked to them lately about anything other than the wedding. So, um. Well. They don’t know that we broke up.”

Dame feels her fingers digging into the invitation, crumpling the paper, but she doesn’t care. “They what?”

Tia buries her face in her hands. “I never told anyone that we broke up.”

Act I: Cool under pressure (Grandekofi)

“Five minutes,” the driver announced.

They'd be there soon. The time crunch eased Tia into their seat. Despite being told very little of the job from their manager and signing a strict nondisclosure agreement, Tia was oddly calm.

A gala in the financial district of the city whose cause neither Tia nor their manager had heard of with a man whose name could only be a fake, a single page of information on their role and knowledge of the man, and a time they had to be ready was all Tia knew.

Usually, they'd want to know every single detail, down to the last minute, or else fear performing under par. Improv at the academy had been a disaster, one that followed them past graduation. Every single time they were asked for an ad lib, Tia's mind went into overdrive, and no words would come out. Anything beyond the script, and they were out.

Maybe it was the mystery of it all that made the difference. The stranger besides them hadn't said a word at the signing of the contract, not even offering a smile at their reunion as they joined him in the black car. A weakness for a pretty face and a promise of an extravagant night was all Tia needed.

The city lights flashed by, as the buildings grew like trees made of concrete and glass. Extravagant like the red dress they were made to wear, and easier to look at than their date. It wasn't often Tia had the opportunity to visit this part of the city.

One glance and the prickling came back. Intense grey met brown. How long had he been looking at them?

“Before we leave, I have something for you,” the man spoke. His voice was as cut as his sharp face. Deep.

No, not the man. Dame. If Tia had any hope of pulling this off, they needed to remember the name of the client. Even if it was a fake.

Cold metal froze their hands, turning them to lead. Tia's eyes darted up and down, fingers clenched around the object in their hands.

That's a gun. That's totally a real gun he just put in their hands like it was no big deal. Breathe Tia, breathe!

What kind of gig had they accepted?

“Are you sure that's a good idea?” Tia quivered. There wasn't a chance their poker face worked. “I've only used these to hunt Daleks in my dressing room before a shoot.”

“Just in case. Keep it in your bag.”

No room for argument. If Dame could hand them a gun without batting an eye, who was to say he didn't have more on his person. No sense of humour from that one.

Tia breathed in, then out. The blur of lights had stopped. They could do this.

The car came to a halt, and without time to think, Tia stowed the gun away. If they didn't see it, it didn't exist. And if it didn't exist, Tia had nothing to worry about.

Dame exited the car first, then offered his hand to help them out. Showtime.

They could do this.

i have been steadily working on this for almost a year now holy cow,, and it's still not done grandekofi I'm so sorry. but basically, Tia is an assassin sent to kill Dada's husband, but Dada may be hiding a secret of her own (ehehe). i need to finish this I just re-read it and it actually goes kind of hard

Dani smirked, "You sure know how to flatter a girl, your girlfriend must be very lucky."

Tia awkwardly laughed, "Oh, uh, no...no girlfriend. I don't have a girlfriend, I mean."

She cringed, mentally kicking herself for sounding so lame.

"Really? I would've thought a girl as charming as you would have girls clamoring at her feet." Dani plucked a champagne flute from a nearby server. "Such a charming accent, too."

Tia chuckled. "Thank you, but unfortunately I haven't seem to have much luck." She wasn't exactly lying, being an assassin wasn't exactly a normal job- putting someone in that kind of danger didn't sit well with her. "Maybe the world has grown tired of charming English girls." She joked.

"I haven't."
