Wyndell: Reluctant Heir

“G-greetings. My name is Wyndell von Gerth, of Adrestia. W-where am I? …is Mother here?”

So you know how Heroes started introducing younger/child variants of FE characters? I wanted one of those for myself of Forwin (more specifically as Wyndell in the distant past, in this case) so I went and commissioned @grandtales for the babey! 🥺
also Nora I once again apologise for asking for a sad version of boyo and I SWEAR I’ll comm you for a happy son next time (unless an angstier idea comes to mind)
But yes, Wyndell did not have the… happiest of childhoods under Roland’s guidance and, as a result, is already far from keen in inheriting his father’s work at such a young age. Case in point, see the sheet music he’s snuck with him when he’s only supposed to be studying…
As for his appearance, I thought to model his clothes after his father again, this time to somewhat mirror how Edelgard dressed similarly to her father when she was younger. That was the idea, and Nora of course carried it out with aplomb!!

"So, did yer teachers make y'do this fer extra credit or somethin'? Y'don't really get kids yer age doin' community work." God, that made her sound old. Biting back a grimace, she instead offered an awkward half-smile. "I mean, most high-school kids hang out with their friends after-school, not trim leaves. Don't mistake me fer pressin' or nothin', I do appreciate the help."
She passed some supplies on the park table. Shears, garbage bags, a grabber to pick up trash... A groundskeeper's toolset. Hikari offered a warm smile, "Jus' do yer best, is all I ask, huhn?"
@grandtales ;; @ Elodie!
It’d taken him centuries, of course, but, finally, Zagreus could reach the surface without being instantly pulled back to his father’s domain. For a time, at least. Today, he opted to make use of that time to meet with his younger brother at Camp Half-Blood.
Well, half-brother, if one cared to split hairs, but Zagreus didn’t pay that thought any mind. As far as he was concerned, there were no half-measures when it came to family.
And speaking of family ...
Ah, yes, there she was! Mr. D had sent him a missive in the Underworld, asking for his dear relative to meet his daughter, Elodie. And there was no mistaking that she was a child of Dionysus. Zagreus could already smell the scent of brewed wine in her veins. That, and the t-shirt; it was the same sort that Dionysus’s son wore, in the Underworld.
“You’re Elodie, yes?”
“I do hope you’ve helping my cousin cheer up. I’ve heard that, of late, he’s been as dour as a pile of sour grapes. What are we to do when even the god of parties can’t muster a smile, eh?”
“ Ooooh if only some cute girl could gimme a lil’ kiss right now. ”
@grandtales: " got it, yeah? it's an easy-peasy plan, after all. even an idiot would get it and recognize that this is a once-in-a-lifetime offer. " [ okay. maybe that isn't entirely true, but elodie has to drag him to her side in one way or another. ] " you get the girl back and there is one less curse to worry about! just sayin'... "
To be quite honest... Theseus isnt’ exactly happy about this. It wasn’t the first time someone younger approached him, but generally they do to shily ask for an autograph, or telling him that they wanted to be just like him, one day.
Being part of a plan that might’ve implied stealing a God’s loved one - one who, as far as he knew, died because of him, no less! - isn’t something he expected to hear, taking him by surprise enough to leave him speechless, for once in his life. That’s... quite the accomplishment.
“Look... child.”
Oh, man.
“I understand, we all have troubles with our families, around here, but as much as I’d like to get rid of that damnable curse, anything I felt for Arianna is in the past. Besides, I don’t know what Lord Dionysus told you about me, but I’m quite sure she was quite delighted to know I died, so...”
Suddenly, he feels extremely uncomfortable.
