✨ For marriage and courting! I have the headcanon that marriage isn't a thing in traditional kaldorei culture and was only something introduced when other races came involved.

First off I 100% agree.Courting is a very slow process, in fact if can take several hundred years to even begin courting as it is customary to present your intended with a gift to show you have listened to them as a friend and have a strong friendship as a base for a romantic relationship and you know them enough to go further, in return a courtship doesn’t start until the other returns a gift. In an example, when Ardryn wanted to start courting Amondria he gave her a fancy weapon repair kit because he knew how much Amondria likes her weapons. Accepting his courtship, Amondria presented him with a rare language book on a (headcannoned) dead elven language knowing how much he wanted to learn every elven language.marriages, or Binding Ceremonies as they're called, to me follow more along with hand-tying ceremonies. where the two lovers hold hands and a rope of Mooncloth is tied around their hands. Then a Priestess will soak the cloth in blessed water from a Moonwell and offer prayers to Elune and a blessing for the couple (or more, as Kaldorei are more open with the idea of who can be bound). The lovers then share vows to each other. Instead of “I do/ I will” what is said is “I give you Immortality and the Stars.” a promise to be together for all immortality and even in death. On a related headcannon. Words like “wife/husband/spouse” do not exist in Darnassian as a language. the word used is “Life-Bound”
