I lived in Hokkaido, Japan's northernmost main island, for four years many years ago. I saw wild foxes there several times in open fields or even in residential streets. Since I've never seen wild foxes in my hometown Tokyo I was always very happy to see them. One day in winter I saw a beautiful fox jumping and pursuing a rat or something in the white snow-covered field.
