The 1969 live album Live/Dead did seize the band in-form, but commercial achievement did not come till Workingman's Dead and American Beauty, both released in 1970. These information largely featured the band's laid-back acoustic musicianship and more traditional music structures. With their rootsy, eclectic stylings, mainly obvious on the latter albums, the band pioneered the hybrid Americana genre.
