I mean think about it. 13yo, frozen in puberty, perpetually hormonal, loses someone he is very close to (father, uncle, either way), and never really gets over it. He’s hurting. A lot.

Which is probably why I have the headcanon that he runs off a lot and lives on his own for decades at a time, which is how he discovers modern punk fashion, and probably falls in love with Runrig songs like “Maymorning”, “Headlights”, “Hearts of Olden Glory”, and so forth.
