Forgot to share the finished tree! Currently working on a custom request so been kind of quiet on here. Also had a bit of a clearout on Saturday and found some old style trees that I forgot I had ... basically if something isn't right on front of my face it ceases to exist. It sometimes does the same even when I'm looking straight at it - pretty sure the Bermuda triangle was thought up by people with ADHD who instantly lost the thing they just had that suddenly vanished into thin air! Anyway, I'm going to magic up a clearance section (if I can remember how to do it) at some point this week to list these older trees as discounted and discontinued. There are mostly Christmas ones and probably a couple of others but I'll sort and photograph them before Friday. And that's all my news. What's been going on with you? Get up to anything good at the weekend? . . . . . . #TwystedRoots #NewTree #amber #ADHDProblems #trees #TreeMaker #MondayMotivation #TreeLovers #GreenTree #HandmadeByMe . . . Since my music life has stalled a bit due to the pandemic I thought I would bring back a segment I haven’t done in a while called “Artisan Alert”. Today I’m going to showcase “Greentree Weaving”. I first came across Greentree Weaving’s work at the Maryland Renaissance Festival about 10 years ago. It was a cold, rainy day in September and the dress I was wearing was not suitable for the weather. After shivering for several hours my parents suggested that we buy something at the festival to keep me warm. Earlier that day my mom had purchased a jacket from one of the shops and I thought it was pretty so I asked where she got it. She told me it was from a shop called Greentree Weaving. So I went to the shop and immediately fell in love with the beautiful fabrics. I marveled at the workmanship as well as the softness of the cloth. I learned that each piece is handwoven by the owner, Margaret Fischer, and her apprentices. That day I got my first piece was a Ruana in the color Cosmos. That particular piece caught my eye because there had been synthetic shiny strands woven in with the nature fabric. Since that day my collection has grown to shawls, scarves, hats, more ruanas, jackets, one mini-ruana and one purse.
