This is blatantly stolen from reddit user u/brevardforbernie it is the best snapshot I’ve seen of the local sheriff’s office here in Brevard County, Florida.

 This is what “a few bad apples” looks like in Brevard: multiple civil rights cases filed against the Sheriff, the President of the local police union publicly inviting violent cops from other states to work in Brevard, the hiring of a deputy whom the Washington Post had previously reported was under FBI investigation for racially motivated traffic stops, and the hiring and retention of an officer with a violent criminal history who killed two teenagers last year on the job.

So if you are a POC or LGBT or frankly anyone not white and Republican in Brevard County, Florida it might be time to move.

The owner of the Brevard FOP page and the president of the Brevard FOP is a lieutenant under our sheriff and has been for 28 years. He has not been disciplined, or fired. The only thing our sheriff (Wayne Ivey) has done is say that the department isn’t officially connected to Brevard FOP.

There is also this. When called out for his behavior, he proceeded to threaten the person doing so.

Also while we are also on the subject, please help the family of Gregory Edwards in their mission to get the Brevard County Sheriff’s office to release the videos of what happened to him.

Here is what we do know,

The 38-year-old veteran, Gregory Edwards, got into a confrontation with a deputy during his booking process on Dec. 9, 2018. They fell to the floor and then Edwards was beaten, kneed, sprayed with a chemical agent, shocked with a stun gun, handcuffed and strapped into a restraint chair with a spit hood covering his face. The confrontation involved as many as seven sheriff's deputies. He was a decorated army medic who, lost consciousness after being left alone in the restraint chair for nearly 16 minutes, reports show. He died the next day in a hospital.

When remembering the names of those fallen at the hands of police, please remember Gregory Edwards.
