*G R E N F E L L - U P D A T E Flick left for Last night’s question from Stormzy “where’s the money for Grenfell?” The incredible generosity of you and others that was shown after the devastating tragedy here on our doorstep on June 14th meant that we raised an amazing £126,357. We have since deliberated over and considered all options and avenues to make this money as effective as possible along with a local committee including residents. We decided education and opportunities for development in general was the area not being covered and therefore most needed and we can’t wait to start supporting more and more individuals. So the money raised will fund educational endeavours of those effected by the fire. The very first donation has just been decided upon and it is going to help a resident who lost family members in the tower complete her teacher training. When she heard the news she could go on to finish her training she burst into tears. She is ecstatic and couldn’t be more grateful. This will also mean that she will then be going on to support more children in the community. I can’t thank you all enough for everything you did those months ago. Not a penny will go on admin or costs. As promised at the time all the money will go to the residents. I will update the page on my website so type “Grenfell” into the search bar whenever.
