✱ LIAR. Tells the court he lost his whole memory but remembers the police department he grew up in. Trips up on his act when he’s tired at night?

✱ if he’s not lying about losing his memory: no one’s looking for him (is someone happy to be rid of him? why does nobody miss him)      ↳ (did something happen to his family?)

✱ if he’s lying about losing his memory: scary good actor. lied in court. broke the law. dangerous. (what did he get away with?) - could get away with anything                          ↳ (what did he do that was so bad he needed to lose his identity to escape it?)

✱ tr̲i̲a̲l̲ & e̲r̲r̲o̲r̲!!! last 3 times a boy paid attention to you, ended badly. learn.

✱ Interested in you for no coherent reason (to review: pulled a knife on him, dragged him out to boring bumblefuck at 5 am, gave him nightmares, made him cringe @ formal) ; knows you’re a monster ; must have ulterior motives

✱ radiates dangerously precious aura that tempts you to try and hold his hand even when you have all of this in mind  (scary pixie dream boy!!! scary pixie dream boy!!!)

✱ Has had at least three opportunities to publicly or privately murder you. Has murdered you approximately zero times.

✱ He shows up to catch you at the end of your worst falls, but calls you the superhero.

✱ How his voice makes your ugly name sound pretty again

✱ not only understands and validates your wildly obscure camp movie references but also can ramble about them even longer than you can 

✱ supports ‘outdated’ music taste

✱ lets you be TOUGH - turns out you can wrap your own wound but didnt realize it because every other man tries to baby you 

✱ PATIENCE OF A SAINT!!!!!!!! (or someone with nowhere to go…)       ↳ does this weird thing where it’s almost like he understands and empathizes 

✱ How his voice makes lies like “you’re safe” sound believable (could be troubling if he wasn’t right 4/4 times). almost makes you believe you have a choice in things

✱ feels like you’re in a dream around him. (would be troubling in relativity to a life that usually feels like reality but a dream is a nice alternative to a nightmarish life)  healthy(?) distraction (escape?) from horrific problems - nothing goes wrong around him                                                                                    ↳ but never boring 

✱ FEARLESS!! (contagiously)         ↳ makes life feel less wes craven more wes anderson

✱ Only acts edgy and dangerous in a sexy free spirited fire sign kind of way  

✱ witty banter that does not turn into serious cutting character attacks SID                                                                                   ↳ not for lack of ammunition

Happy Valentine’s Day, Maxine. Stab yourself without fear of bandaids ruining your aesthetic :P –Grey

Oh, this probably wasn’t meant to warm her heart the way it did, but here she is getting emotional and putting much too much enthusiasm into her thank you text with the most pathetic little smile on her face. It’s going to take a lot of snark to equal out the sappiness of excess hearts and good tidings in her message. This is Valentine’s Day, after all. It’s so easy for her to slip up and make it awkward for him– or worse: to give him a green light to get himself killed.

Whatever she’s typing in the follow-up text sure sounds like it has a lot of clapping emojis, and based on the way her eyebrows are raised and her lips are pursed, it’s safe to say she’s reminding him something along the lines of MAYBE CUTE GIRLS WOULDN’T STAB THEMSELVES IF LITTLE GHOST BOYS WEREN’T SPOOKING THEM OUT IN THE WOODS AT NIGHT.

Sorry Sidburger. it’s not that she’s pro-death penalty, and it’s definitely not like she’d handle it as well as she’s pretending she will, but somebody’s gotta go, and nobody’s quite as miserable and lonely as Sid Wurm. You could say he passed a long time ago.

“ Bang Grey. ”  

Now that she spits out fast, a little mumbled, like she just needed to get it over with. Like there’s probably some tension there that they should both get out of their systems so they can go their separate ways, because she has no business in whatever strange life he has, and he certainly doesn’t need anything to do with hers.

“ And I'll just have to play the Bride of Frankenstein. ”

They’ll get it out of their systems, make it fast, and, her luck: she’ll probably spend her eternal miserable marriage thinking about it.

Funny like warm cozy cider in a soft furry cup, funny like chasing a potof gold at the end of the rainbow when you know it doesn’t exist, funny liketrying to hold hands with a ghost, funny like that feeling in your stomach whenyou’re trying to navigate a dizzy funhouse after getting off the spinny ride.Funny like quaint, funny like curious, funny like off, funny like uncanny.

Max and Cypress Bronte were thick as thieves, once upon a time. But he was only friends with the Max Bronte who died in the church fire.

Lydia Asher. Sid's mentioned her in passing, which Max finds concerning, given Sid’s track record with friendships. She wants to warn her about him and make sure he hasn’t done any lasting damage yet.
