‘ I just got here. I haven’t had a chance to screw anything up yet. ’
Marian couldn’t help but feel like those were the very words she would mutter to herself almost daily when she began working at the library. Though Marian was fairly graceful, she seemed to ever so creatively find ways to mess things up a bit even when she wasn’t trying. She had always been a bit hard on herself, though, so screwing up to her may not have necessarily met someone else’s definition of screwing up. She laughed softly and turned to the woman, giving her a warm smile, “You sound like me every day of my life. Though, I’ll tell you a little secret; it’s nearly impossible to screw anything up at the library as a patron. And you certainly don’t strike me as one to wreak havoc on books, so I can confidently say that you’re in fine shape!” Marian adjusted a couple of books on the shelf in front of her, and pulled a cart full of books behind her as she made her way down the aisle. “Can I help you find something?”
