greywarenwarden replied to your post:kylo is such a piece of shit, how do people like...
tbh, i love him bc he’s a dick lmao. like his character is interesting to me bc he’s such a spoiled brat who’s like spiraling downward despite having had everything going for him.
See, that’s fair. I think there’s a fine line between finding a character interesting and excusing the things he says and does because of that factor. Maybe that’s what I should have said instead.
1, 15, 29, 37, 46, and 50 for the song ask :>
1. Your current favorite song: All Flesh is Grass by Chris Massa, which I can’t link to because all the versions on YouTube are… not great. The version I know and love was performed by my old high school’s choir back in, like, 2002. I’m actually gonna see if I can upload that recording when I publish this because it’s Really Good. ETA: I uploaded the version that I like and linked to that! It’s so dreamy and beautiful, I love it.
15. A song that makes you want to fall in love: No. 1 Party Anthem by Arctic Monkeys. Like… has any song ever better captured the feeling of falling a little in love while slow dancing at a kind of shitty party with someone you don’t know that well?? The answer is no. I really want that.
29. A song that cheers you up when you’re sad: Prairie in the Sky by Tom Russell. That has been my go-to soothing song for sadness since I was a little kid–soft acoustic guitars and a beautiful, familiar voice (I grew up almost exclusively on Tom Russell’s music) and warm, peaceful imagery of the American Southwest. Yes.
37. A song that helped you through a difficult time in your life: The Predatory Wasp Of The Palisades Is Out To Get Us! by Sufjan Stevens. I listened to that song so damn much when I had my breakdown last year and I remember it, especially the lines “I can’t explain the state that I’m in/The state of my heart, he was my best friend/Into the car, from the back seat/Oh admiration in falling asleep/All of my powers, day after day/I can tell you, we swaggered and swayed”, being one of the only things that made me feel at all okay.
46. A song that you wish more people knew about: Always Take You Back by Night Terrors of 1927. Oh my God I love this song so much and it’s ridiculous that it has less than 200,000 views on YouTube.
50. Free slot! Any song you want to share!: I Have Never Loved Someone by My Brightest Diamond. Just the ultimate lullaby. It makes me feel so soft and warm and safe and loved whenever I hear it. It helps that it’s also the background music for The Nicest Place On The Internet.
