Back during my first Echoes run I thought Grieth looked and acted a lot like Big Boss to the point I wandered if the redesign was inspired by him

And now having watched all the Metal Gear titles and replayed Echoes, I still see the similarities.

Seriously, look!

(I couldn't find a better portrait, but Grieth also wears the same hat Big Boss wears in the MSX titles)

Not to mention the eyepatch, Grieth's line about how's there always another him when Big Boss has a lot of clones, not to mention a literal mercenary kingdom is founded on Grieth's Citadel after his death

So, um, I guess we can add "Outer Heaven uprising" to the possible reasons the One Kingdom fell?
