This had been a terrible idea. From the very moment it was suggested, he knew it would be a terrible idea. The Spring Festival had practically everything that he hated – crowds, greasy foods, and noise. Okay sure maybe he didn’t get as overwhelmed with the stimuli as he used to, and by now Luke knew that so he couldn’t really play that card, but that didn’t give the other man any excuse to practically drag Gio along. It was still considered dragging him along if he was in fact the one that had driven them there though, right? Surely it was. He’d have to consult a statute book on that eventually, or browse some legal forums. Either way, he was there and at the suggestion of the mine tour, he had stared his friend – best friend even – in the eyes and said how idiotic that sounded, yet there they were.
When the ground started to shake, Gio could feel his heart start to race. No, no, no, no absolutely not. This was not happening now, not when he didn’t even want to be underground in this death trap to begin with. Looking back on it, it had been a bit embarrassing how quickly he had rushed forward and reached out to grasp onto the other male whom just prior he had been following at a reasonable distance just so he didn’t feel crowded. As the dust settled – both figuratively and literally – Gio let out a sigh of relief to see that he had managed to stick with Luke, even though it seemed as though they had been cut off from the others.
Should he have asked if the other was alright? Should he have called out to see if anyone else was nearby and hurt? Yeah, probably. However, Gio released his grip on his friend, began dusting himself off, then met Luke’s eyes with a deadpan stare. “I told you this was a bad idea. You will need to learn to listen to me one of these days. Bribery or not, we should not have come to this.” @lostmason
