After having an eventful beginning of the summer, things have become quiet at Lake Grimstone, but that does not mean that we have not been hard at work trying to make your lives better. In fact, we are proud to announce the return of FAMILY WEEK to Lake Grimstone! Family Week is a time where our residents may invite their loved ones--close friends as well as blood-relatives--to visit our beautiful town and see how their lives have been. Of course, no one is obligated to invite anyone, and everyone is welcome to participate in the festivities, regardless of whom they invite. The week will include a variety of planned experiences, designed to give your loved ones a taste of how good life is here. This year’s Family week will begin on August 6th and end on August 13th. Below is more information about the event, including a list of activities scheduled.
It’s up to you whether you want your muse’s family members to come. The option is available for everyone, but you’re welcome to choose. If your character does not have family who can come, and you want help getting involved in other ways, let us know
Each day of the event will be a different “activity”. The activities will include a meet-and-greet, a tour of Lake Grimstone/a tour of the surrounding nature, a beach party with an open mic, a powers competition, and a dance at the end of the week
You are encouraged to write any kind of chat or para with anyone’s family or friends, as well as self-paras! Non-event interactions will be suspended for the event
We will release little announcements leading up to and throughout the event with more details about when families arrive and what activities are occurring, etc
Please use the tags grimstonefam, and grimstoneevent
Do not feel any concern. We will restore power as soon as possible. In the meantime, please report to your safe-house station for the near future. There will be a guard at each station to ensure the safety of all residents in the house. Any concerns may be reported to your guard.
PLEASE REMAIN IN YOUR SAFE HOUSE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
There have been some events which have caused some residents to be concerned. However, we would like to assure everyone that there is no reason for concern. Obviously, we are assessing the danger of any threats being made to our residents, the town, or the livelihood of all members of Lake Grimstone. Rest assured--if there is a danger to the town, it will be found and stopped.
Counseling sessions will be made available to all residents who are experiencing feelings of stress or trepidation. Otherwise, activities in town will continue as normal. We see no reason to let reckless actions of small groups of people disrupt your daily lives. For further information, do not hesitate to contact any government agent.
We have noticed many of you asking for more internet time--of course, we want to make your lives as comfortable and easy as possible. However, we’ve also heard from the training staff that not everyone is as committed to pushing their abilities as we would like, so we have come up with a compromise: we will instate a mandatory training schedule, and hold a tournament, with unlimited internet access for a week as the grand prize! Teams will be preselected, and can be found below. The tournament will begin on FEBRUARY 27th and last until MARCH 10th. During this time, teams will square off against one another with the following rules:
No one resident may kill, or attempt to kill another. All matches will be refereed by a neutral third party to prevent such an occurrence. Any attempt to do so will result in punishment.
Serious injuries will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
All powers are fair game, but physical fighting (fisticuffs) are as well
Teams will have 5 minutes to fight--scores will be calculated in a manner similar to boxing
For more information, please see the flyer below.
-The Government Team
This event will last from February 27th to March 10th
You are encouraged to write chats or paras with any member of any team concerning the event; all non-event interactions will be suspended during this time
You may also write self-paras! Get creative!
Acceptances will occur as scheduled during this event. If you are accepted during the event, we will put your character on a team
If your character is a Government Official, then they are hosting the event. Message us if you need ideas for what they could be doing! They’re still involved
No one may be killed during the event. If you want your character to become seriously injured/to seriously injure someone else, please message us beforehand. All our regular rules are still in place
The first 5 days of the event are for training. On the 26th, “matches” will start. We will select the winners of these matches at random and announce the winners of the tournament (selected at random as well) on the 1st.
Use the tag grimstonetourney, grimstoneevent, and event: 001 to help everyone keep track of anything you post for this event
