More Harp facts bc her ref sheet isn't gonna be done for a bit and I wanna talk about my favorite seal baby.

She's surprisingly strong for someone of her stature. She can lift about 300 pounds with relative ease. 600 is the most she can lift at a time, and only for a moment.

Harp has a special way of dancing that her parents taught her, and she'll randomly pull passing skeletons into a dance- especially Aspen, Papyrus, Pine, and Junior (and Mal just to pull him away from whatever he's doing).

Harp primarily learned how to swordfight from Griosk (@mochamashi's OC).

She's not opposed to slicing her dresses to get more leg room to fight and has a few that go about mid-thigh because she refuses to throw them away.

She has a low alcohol tolerance and has only had alcohol once, which was by mistake. She's also not a very capable drunk, and will stumble around running into walls until she either passes out or is put to bed.

She's very good at adapting to different fighting styles.

Her favorite flashy move is disarming somebody by locking their sword, twisting their arm to make them drop their sword, kicking the sword into the air, and catching it through the hilt with her own sword. Now she has two swords!

Her coat gives her a lot of power- and taking that power away when she's had it her whole life immediately has terrible ramifications (see other Harp/selkie lore and headcanons).

Harp isn't afraid to use her teeth and nails in a serious fight, and they gouge DEEP.

Hurting one of the crew or one of Harp's friends guarantees a pissed off selkie who can lift 600 pounds charging at you with a cutlass and murder in her eyes.

She knows how to use a sabre and a rapier, but she's much more proficient with her cutlass.

She's escaped from being captured so many times that practically no cage, chains, or rope can hold her for long.

She's banned from using guns after she blew a hole in the deck of the ship on accident.

If one of the crew/ one of her friends are in the water with orcas nearby and can't get back on the ship/land, she'll jump into the water to save them (though will definitely need to be calmed down afterwards).

She likes to do tricks like flips and cartwheels while she fights to annoy her opponents, but only when there's no lethal danger involved.

She can do handstands for a long time and likes to walk toward Mal on her hands with her upside down :3 face.

Harp will spend literal hours just listening to any instruments the crew play. Music is another thing she never got to experience as a selkie, and she *loves* it.

She loves annoying Mal just for the sake of bothering him, but if he gets too mad she'll back off until he cools down.

Paps and Jasper are her favorite skeletons to prank the others with, and they're also the ones who taught her to curse.

She's very fast on her feet, and with bigger opponents than her (which is practically always. but bigger than normal), her main strategy is wearing them down before striking.

She likes to point her sword at the person she's just beat, smirk, and say 'I win' just to be dramatic.

She developed a liking for tomatoes because Alkai would always give her theirs (@mochamashi's character).

She despises bitter foods and will get sick if she ingests more than a bite or two of something bitter.

She'd rather die than watch anyone else she cares about get hurt. She doesn't care if her life is endangered; if someone she cares about is in danger, she will do everything in her power to help them.

@mochamashi when Jasper and Papyrus teach Harp to curse are Griosk and Alkai like 'no stop' or are they like 'fuck yea'?

I was trying to find something among the chaos of my papers and notebooks, and ended up finding the first design of Griosk (I'd anticipate I was about 12-13 when I drew this)

His name was Grimmer for the longest time, decided I didn't like it when I was about 15-16, wanted something that still followed 'grim' so Griosk came of that, Mortimer followed a similar process where I wanted something with 'mort' for rigor mortis

He's definitely come a long way from what he was, and still remains as one of my favorite ocs, and I hope that I can continue sharing more about him even if it's in writing
