He was hired to commentate, but also entered the event, for reasons he explains in the article. Anyways, Ive been fortunate to work closely with Brad, coaching and designing boards for @tarrrrrrro and @noah_hill_surfer, the last few years, but had never made him any personal boards. He usually rides boards from my good friend @chris_christenson73. His surfing on @xanadu_surf boards in the late 80's/early 90's was a huge influence on my shaping career. So...He was in Bali, before the event. and ordered a few urgent boards for the Philippines/Cloud9 trip. I designed the boards per his input and sent @akubrd cad files to @lost_indo, where we had the boards built there, in Bali. Brad made one heat, nailing the single highest score of the entire round, before settling into his role as the commentator. Thanks to @whitemonkey_surf for making the boards happen. And thanks to Brad for reminding us that #OldGuysRule.
