What.... What was that?
Wandering aimlessly down Castelia city seemed to become a daily routine for Touya. There wasn't anything to do anyways. After collecting all his badges and concurring the Pokemon league two years ago; what was there to do? The city skyline was something all to familiar at this point. Never changing, bright city lights that bled into the night sky and masked the stars. And now that the region had grown colder with the changing season, the usual evening snowfall was nothing new to Touya either. Tightening his scarf around his neck, Touya rubbed his red hands together and kept walking down the sidewalk.
But the sight of something unusual caused Touya's gut to churn. It was almost as if deep in his mind; he knew. As a flash of pastel green became visible across the city square, Touya's eyes widened for a double take. But by the time he turned, it was gone.
What? But I could have sworn--
No! There it was again! A full head of shaggy green hair slipping between the wandering city folk. Touya's stomach flipped in sudden excitement There was only one person that could be! But, having green hair wasn't that unusual, was it? The disappointment he would feel if his assumptions were denied...
Just then, the figure turned to glance sideways. Even if it was only for a second; those clear features confirmed it. Touya could recognize that child-like face in a crowd of millions. Which essentially, he did. He stood dumbfounded in his spot. Almost as if his winter boots were made of lead and refused to let him move.
"N," Touya breathed, fog passing his lips as his warm breath clashed with the cold atmosphere. "N!" Words only motivating himself, Touya changed gait into a hurried walk. Bolting across the city square would only draw attention. But as more people made their way down the side of the road in a hurried manner, Touya lost glimpse of him for a brief moment. And that alone was enough to motivate him to run hurriedly towards the man he'd been searching for for the past two years.
Adrenaline pumped through him. Oh, all the things he had to say! All the questions he wanted to ask! Where had he been? Why had he left? Where was Ghetsis? What had happened af--
Touya's thoughts were interrupted as he lost balance on a patch of sheer ice that had dried by the fountain and been covered in snow. He let out an embarrassing sounding squeak as his feet flew out in front of him and he landed on his abdomen. Pain rippled up his backside and he groaned out, his pants instantly dampening from the snow that had melted upon contact. It took him only a minute until he was back on his feet, dusting the snow from his knees and taking off in direction of where he had last seen N.
And surely, the man was still there. He had stopped and was looking in the window of some shop to Touya's relief. But still, he ran as if N would spontaneously com bust at any moment. As if he would disappear and Touya would miss his chance to ever talk to him again.
"N!"
Touya's tone was not happy; nor was it filled with excitement But rather the name slipped from his tongue in a voice filled with frustration. He stormed up behind him, pants covered in snow and huffing from toll the sudden run had taken on him. Touya's cheeks flushed with a vibrant crimson from the cold and his fingers clenched in his gloves. "Where--... Where have you been?!" Touya exclaimed. His expression was filled with dismay; much like that of a puppy that had been left at home alone for far too long. "I've looked everywhere! Do you have any idea?!"
