that's the first step and it's also most of the spell.
find somewhere outside — grass, dirt, sand, stone, it doesn't matter. stand with your feet flat on the ground. feel the temperature of it. the slight give of grass or the firmness of stone. the way the ground pushes back when you press into it.
that push back is the earth being solid under you. which it is. which it has been the entire time you were spiraling.
say out loud: "I am here. The ground is here. I am held."
stay for three minutes. don't fill the time. just feel the ground under your feet and breathe.
that's the whole spell. your nervous system was designed to regulate through contact with the earth. you're just letting it do its job.
the bare feet grounding ritual — edge & altar spell library
Take 3-4 deep breaths. With one hand on your chest (Heart Spaces) and the other on your stomach or Core. Inhale 4 seconds. Hold 5 seconds. Exhale 8 seconds.
Then repeat the following affirmations/manifestations 3-4 times:
I am one with the Earth. I am grounded. I am present in my body. I am safe and protected from harm. I give my pain, suffering, etc. [insert what you want to release/give up] to The Earth. I release myself from suffering [insert what applies], giving it to Mother Earth so She can transmutate this pain [insert what applies].
The New Moon in Gemini brings an energy that’s fast, flexible, and full of possibility. This is not a moon for heavy rituals or complex altars—it’s for mind magic, mental clarity, and setting intentions through words and ideas. Gemini rules communication, learning, and duality, making this the perfect lunar moment to script, journal, or even speak your manifestations aloud.
Start by crafting your goals with curiosity. Gemini doesn’t demand perfection—it wants exploration. If your intentions feel fluid right now, that’s a good thing. Write down several paths, not just one. Brainstorm. Play. Let the magic of possibility flow through your pen.
This moon is also ruled by the element of air. Air magic is all about communication, intellect, and breath. Try a breathwork meditation, a wind-chime charm, or simply light incense and speak your desires into the smoke. Bonus witch points if you journal your spellwork or write an open letter to the universe.
Balance is key with Gemini’s dual nature. If you’re feeling pulled in two directions, don’t fight it. Duality isn’t confusion—it’s complexity. Think through both sides of any decision before committing. This is a good time for shadow journaling, tarot spreads focused on clarity, or working with liminal deities.
And finally, make your rituals curious. Ask yourself questions, pull cards, explore “what if” spells. Let your manifestation process be less about outcome and more about alignment with what lights up your mind.
Gemini moons aren’t about grounding—they’re about floating ideas and catching the ones that feel like truth.

🌞 A Tarot pull, asking “What energy should I take into the new year?”
I drew Strength and... nothing checks out more. Sometimes my deck is mysterious and sometimes she’s truly not.
🌞 I made @hereticalapothecary’s grounding body scrub (x)
Ground Coffee- grounding, energy, vitality
White Sugar- love
Cinnamon- abundance, love
Golden Syrup- love, flexibility/adaptation
Coconut Oil- strength
I charged mine with hematite (grounding), tigers eye (abundance, spirituality) & citrine (abundance, happiness)
🌞 Used the scrub in a steamy shower
Visualising scrubbing away 2020, stress and uncertainty. I asked the universe and the ingredients to ground me within myself through the next year, so I may experience personal abundance, growth and stability regardless of where I physically may be and what challenges I’ll face.
🍃 Wishing you all a new year full of light, love, strength and community, may this trip around the sun be kinder than the last 🍃

This is the basic format I follow for my daily grounding rituals. Feel free to use or adapt them if you like. I use my beads primarily for tactile stimming during these but if my C-PTSD or something about the day makes me unable to close my eyes they are designed in such a way that I can use them to count my breathing on. (Affirmation here refers to any chant, invocation, well..affirmation you go with.)
Morning Grounding Ritual
Sit comfortably in front of altar (or in sacred space) with beads and note book if using a method that needs it. If using an affirmation that isn't memorized be sure to have that accessible.
Close your eyes and count breaths (4 in, 4 out) until calm and still.
Write out the days events and tasks. What emotions float to the surface? Examine them and give each a few minutes to be felt. 3.2 Speak your chosen affirmation or devotion out loud. Whisper, sing, shout, out mumble. Do what you feel so long as put your intent and emotions into it. Be mindful of sleeping neighbors or family. 3.3 Gather about you the energy of the rising sun. Let it warm you. Let it burn away the dark. Use it as cloak and armor to face the day ahead. You can do this.
Count your breaths until calm. Get up and get the day started.
Evening Grounding Ritual
Sit comfortably in front of altar (or in sacred space) with beads and note book if using a method that needs it. If using an affirmation that isn't memorized be sure to have that accessible.
Close your eyes and count breaths (4 in, 4 out) until calm and still.
Write out how the day unfolded. 3.3 Release your pent up energy and emotion with the setting sun. Let the night's cool darkness sooth you. You made it through, you're still here, and the sun will rise again tomorrow.
Count your breaths until calm. Get up, complete any other bedtime routines, and settle down for the night.
Do you ever practice grounding as part of your spiritual routine? If so is there a certain way YOU do it that you would share with others unless it's too personal or do you not ground yourself? If not could you educate us as to why you don't? Just wanting to hear other perspectives as the reason to why I asked you. Your tumblr has loads of info so I felt you would have something to say.
Hey! So I try to practice grounding every once in a while simply for the fact that I have attention issues as it is, so before I do a spell or ritual, or even in just every day practice, I do like to ground. Usually I do my grounding through yoga or anything where I can physically have my feet planted firmly on the ground. If I can visualize the energy from the earth coming in and flowing through and out of my body while I ground, it makes everything feel more connected. I’m very much so a physical and visual grounder. Thank you so much for asking, it’s super cool to share info with other people! =^-^=
As an Aquarius Sun, I find myself pretty untethered to the world. I feel really floaty most of the time and I easily can get caught up in the clouds. I’ve been trying to incorporate more grounding rituals into my daily life to pull my self back down from the ether.
Something that I have found super helpful as of late is making a conscious effort to ground with my cat (whom I consider my familiar) Beau. When I had a more constant schedule and I would be gone regular hours and back at regular hours we would sync up. When I would come home he would run to the door, I’d pat him on the head and then walk over to my couch and lay down. He’d lay right on me tummy to tummy and we would realign with each other.
I’m trying to reclaim this now whenever I leave, even if it isn’t regular. If you’re lucky enough to have an animal in the house I’d try and find ways to ground yourself with them. If not, try something similar with a favorite plant. As the lord of our house, Beau reminds me of the space that I physically inhabit. Which is so helpful when I feel caught up in the clouds.
This meditation technique is used to bring the user into greater balance, and strengthen connections with Amenti and Arulu. When used regularly, it brings the mind, body and spirit into harmony, creating a better connection between the three. It is useful also as a grounding ritual before or after a Magical working is carried out.
Step One:
Find a quiet place, free of distractions; close your eyes, or if you prefer, find a relatively nondescript backdrop to focus your eyes on to (the key is to find something that will not be distracting). Ensure that you are sitting or standing with your feet firmly on the floor. Then, steady your breathing; inhale deeply and hold the breath for a count of five, then exhale. After another count of five, inhale again, and hold. You may need to do this several times in order for it to come naturally. When you are relaxed, and the breathing feels natural, move on to the next stage.
Step two:
Visualize a bright, golden light glowing above you, expanding until you can feel it’s presence. Watch it slowly condense into a stream of energy, forming the shape of a spiral.
Step three:
Draw the spiral down into you body, through the top of your head, into your core, and let it tingle through you. Then, channel the remaining energy through your feet, into the floor.
Step four:
Visualize a bright, silver light glowing beneath you, expanding until you can feel it’s presence. Watch it slowly condense into a stream of energy, forming a spiral.
Step five:
Draw the spiral up into you body, through the bottom of your feet, into your core, and let it tingle through you. Then, channel the remaining energy through your head, into the sky.
Step six:
Mingle the gold and silver light which remains inside your body, and watch it change to a bright, rainbow-hued white. Expand it until it encompasses your body, and radiates outward. Allow the light to fade, and when you are ready, open your eyes and return to normalized breathing.
