carson was born and raised in king’s grove and is known as a local – but not for the best of reasons. when she was ten, her mother was diagnosed with severe dementia. at fourteen, her mother walked herself into the nearest lake and didn’t come out until she was fished out. no one knows if it was recklessness or lack of caution or simply suicide that marie phillips was lost to, but the phillips family had an air of tragedy to them after that.
it didn’t help that carson started having seizures soon after her mother died. carson, a little too honest as always, said she would see things, monsters or angels before she would seize up, but of course the doctors didn’t believe her. they sent her to therapy, which she promptly ditched for a whole year.
her father, jeremy phillips, is a local bartender. he’s become a bit of an absentee dad since the loss of his wife. he means well, but he isn’t around ; he likes to work long shifts and can’t stand how much carson resembles her mother.
while the loss of her mother left her cynical at too young of an age, carson adopted escapist tendencies when she would grab any and every book to get her mind off it and wander into whatever world they were exploring today. she became an avid reader to clear her mind and escape to a better world
long story short she cries really hard once a month about how she can’t go to hogwarts and gets depressed bc she doesnt have a hot werewolf bf ://
on the other hand, she has NO IDEA just how close to the truth she is when it comes to the supernatural. it’s only a handful of times that she seizes up or gets visions ---- there’s like a 70% chance she won’t see seize up she touches someone supernatural. on the other hand, she sporadically has visions about people, supernatural or not, when she touches them. it’s usually smth about their past / present / future, but she’s super dumb and definitely doesn’t realize this is what those visions are.
she literally has no clue the supernatural actually exist. she would absolutely seize up if she found out, but if there were to be LOUDLY COUGHS a plot where maybe some witches were able to suppress her seizures / help her reduce them, she would so badly want to know more !!!!
i know i said she was dumb, but she’s like common-sense-dumb but hella book smart. she’s that bitch who needs to be smarter than you out of spite
she’s always open to making new friends, but sometimes finds it difficult due to the fact that she’s a wise-ass and rlly sarcastic BUT she’s intensely loyal to the friends she does have and will do anything for them !!!!!
she’s disgusting and will try to befriend any wild animal, no matter the cost to her
she just wants to be soft and have more than one (1) friend (see: rebecca ‘bex’ dyson) but she’s mean and cynical :((
think: girl next door if she were sad and a little mean and a bit feral but still has a good heart and BOOM that’s carson !!

childhood friends- this would be someone who has known carson since they were little ! they’re close, despite the fact that carson tried to push them away when her mother died.
potential love interest- carson has a thing for bad influences ; hmu if your character might fit the bill !!!! we love drama !!!!!! on the other hand, a good influence who’s interested in her could be fun too, since she’s horribly self - destructive.
enemies ??- i’d really love to see someone who’s really at the top of the social food chain who carson just despises, but she despises them in that way that she’s also kinda attracted to them ?? idk but i’m here for it. i’ll literally never put a cap on how many relationships of this either bc she hates so many jocks fhdsjfhkd
unrequited / one - sided crush- i’m a sucker for these plots. whichever party can be the one with the crush, or maybe they both have crushes on each other and won’t do anything about it ! who knows !!!
some witches that could maybe help her out !!- basically someone could figure out that she’s not actually crazy and that carson is a seer and that’s why she has the occasional seizure ! maybe they could help her surpress the seizures with some witchy help and explain the supernatural stuff to her because she so badly wants this all to be real even if it is scary sometimes :((
