Growing your own Nutrition To plant a seed and see it grow has been one of the greatest joys in my life. Sometimes after sowing 5 seeds only 3 of them will germinate, giving a 50% germination rate. This shows that the seeds are too old or not strong enough! Hence even their fruit or vegetable, will lack nutrition, in comparison to those seeds that have 100 % germination rate.🌱🌳 Even after sowing the seeds the gardener can have a big impact on the health and nutrition value of the plant by taking care of all the needs of the plants. Albert Einstein has said , "Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better!" In a forest, leaves are continuously falling and collecting under the trees. Anyone going to a forest, will find the forest floor constantly covered in a very thick layer of leaves. This thick layer of leaves protects the forest floor and the microbes therein, from strong winds and even stronger sun rays. This in turn, gives the soil enough moisture to continue the germination activities of all the seeds that find their way below from the tree tops. Anyone choosing to grow their own food can learn a lot from observing a forest. There are no gardeners from outside yet in a forest everything continues to grow! What is the secret of a forest? Perhaps there is no one coming in the way of the natural flow of life in a forest where as in the City, we are constantly interfering with nature! Every time a tree sheds its leaves ,we sweep them, and send them to the landfill. Maybe nature has far more intelligence, than we can ever hope to have! In our garden at Parshada, we have been growing some of our own food since last 9 years, and nature is our teacher! We follow the practice of mulching which is leaving a thick layer of leaves on top of the soil in our vegetable and fruit garden at all times. This protects all the microbes living in the soil from strong Sunlight and winds, and its these microbes that transfer the minerals to the plants, by their digestive action. Without microbes, there is no plant nutrition! #grow_grow #healthjourney #nutritionblogger #wholenessproject #parshada #growapumpkin #Parshadagarden #growyournutrition (at Parshada) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxrEV1fljAA/?igshid=1con9ptxkr3k6
