Hmm I could post a Sunday Six from Chaperones but I've already had at least one complaint about spoilers for it on Tumblr.

Don’t be douchey.

Sometimes I want to make a rule that for every person who leaves a review complaining about how long they’ve been waiting for an update and asking when I’m going to post a new chapter (especially when I have updated other works in the meantime) I will wait another day to post that next chapter just out of spite.

Sometimes I want to do that, guys.

But I am not spiteful. So I don’t.

But just be aware that when you get an email and think “ooh, hey, a review” and said review is actually just someone telling you you’re not working hard enough for them, it makes one want to be spiteful.

I went to the library today and checked out books in the YA section and came across a book whose protagonists’s surname was Seagrave. I was so close to shouting, it was awful. 

(Seagrave is *my* protagonists’s surname in my lighthouse story and I felt so clever when I came up with it. Part of my grumpiness is that it’s relevant in my story, whereas in this other book the setting was more or less space cops where watery deaths were not a thing.)

Why I am being unprofessional right now:

I like my peer review group (specifically I like working with the teammates I've had for the past two classes). Also, my genres in the portfolio require that the person reviewing be excited and knowledgable of action, horror, science fiction, and the supernatural.

Second, any prose in my current draft of the portfolio has to be in present tense or else I get point deductions.

*blinks* Um, hello... *inserts sarcasm that would make my cousins grin.* !$#%!

I take it back, I hate my portfolio right now.

Writer Rants #1

You might have questions about what I listen to when I'm writing. Or you might not care at all. If that's the case, then stop reading this. But right now I'm listening to "Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman and not because I like the song. I actually hate it. I'm listening to it because I feel like I write better when I'm angry and this song, which sounds like a melting marshmallow, incites anger in me.
