I don't know why you love Hogsmeade so much ( ' he mumbles under his breath, contrary to his actions, which is letting himself get dragged around and actually spending not a decent amount of money for the other. Hogsmeade looks like those silly muggle ‘Christmas’ cards that he sees flocking over the tables of the great hall. He lets out a sigh, wondering what magic the other has done for Jaewon to spoil her too much )
the type of boyfriend who likes to pay and dote on who he is with. during his time dating estelle, seungjun has bought estelle various gifts. if she mentioned wanting sweets or some piece of clothing, it was likely that he would have gone out of his way to buy them. on dates, he never minded being the one to pay and would be likely to insist upon it. he never much thought about how much money it was or how much he was spending -- a fact pertinent on the two major gifts he gave her during their relationship. seungjun genuinely thinks nothing much of them, only that they were pretty and estelle would look pretty with them.
the left ring, worth over three thousand, was picked on a whim and given to her during a lunch in the great hall. velvet box placed in front of her as he tucked his chin onto her shoulder and waited for her to lift food up to his mouth to feed him.
the right ring, worth just over two thousand, was picked and given to her over summer break. one kept loose in his pocket and placed on her stomach while they made out in her bed. a smile on his lips as he expected her to smile and indulge him more.
side note. he’s got a christmas gift for her that he doesn’t know what to do with, bought after they broke up and unable to help himself. it’s kept in his side draw and he fiddles with it whenever she’s on his mind.

sunday afternoons were made for being curled up on the warm white sheets of estelle’s bed, fingers languidly tracing shapes into her lower back and urging up the thin fabric of her summer shirt. after the school year had ended, seungjun had wondered how much time they were going to get to see one another and he was absentmindedly indulgent in taking any chance that arose to see her, to stay with her, to waste his free time. it’s not as if he wanted to do anything else. a lingering curve of a smile on his lips disappearing when her voice cuts through his thoughts, brow knitting together and honey hues meeting her caramel. seungjun hummed in response, expecting her to realize he had been elsewhere and repeat.
“are you going to keep distracting me or read?”
estelle is a mixture of fireworks and the calm before a storm. something that seungjun had been undeniably curious over and constantly found himself edging the wicks towards a flame to see how close he could get to calamity. it was a childish game that he indulged in whenever he was bored; like now, like his fingers brazenly slipping further under the hem of her shirt and fingering over the clasp of her bra. “i’ve finished,” he answered with a shrug of his shoulders, letting his brown orbs find the corner of his eyes and the book she’d only bought him yesterday. there was three chapters left, but he knew how it would end; it was predictable and he lost interest quickly. “and how can i focus when a goddess is sitting right next to me.”
its more obvious than anything what is on his mind when he starts to lavish her with heavy compliments and even more so with the finger so easily undoing the clasp of her bra. a boyish smile of pride on his lips as he leans in towards her, kissing her shoulder first and then up to the tender skin below her ear. that contour that contains every indefinably sweet scent that could intoxicate him. a hot chuckle being exhale as he willfully begins to urge her over onto her back, wanting her to abandon the muggle device she had in her hands; constantly taking pictures of them and uploading them onto something called social media.
with his knees pressed into the mattress, he hovers over her, letting her legs wrap around his waist and her fingers coil in his hair. her amusement trickles down over him, encourages his actions like sprinkling gasoline into a fire. more than once she points out how blatant he is, how he’s completely readable to her, how he’s typical – and seungjun only shrugs, mouth busy claiming every inch of skin he can; stains of pink kisses left on her neck and down her collarbone. “and?” constantly and equivocally his answer to any accusation that he was far more insatiable during the break than he was at school. it wasn’t a lie. he wouldn’t deny it.
( she was beautiful. she was there in front of him, day in and night out, and he didn’t want to keep his hands off her. no classes, no stress to study, no professors or students to interrupt. )
every kiss shared grew longer, sunk deeper, until they were effectively drowning in one another; banter muttered and bitten into one anothers lips. the thrum of contentedness holding in seungjun’s heart as he looked down at her, slender fingers grazing up her stomach until the hem of her shirt was crumbled at her chest. “but you are beautiful,” he whines in complaint at her disagreement that it had nothing to do with her and all of it was on him; all of his want to have and surrender himself in front of her was his own problem. the mattress shifting as he crawls backwards, laying a trail of butterfly kisses down her sternum, and to the top of her belly button.
a grin pressed against the skin, glancing up at her as her fingers comb through his hair and spark pleasant tingles down his spine. seungjun likes this view of her; the rise and fall of her chest with each breath she takes, the shallow shadows between her lips and the black curve of her lashes as she watches him with half-lidded eyes. the plane of her stomach, the way she shifts and squirms when he teasingly nips at the skin. she was a goddess, beautiful and enrapturing like one. and that’s why she deserved gold, why he retrieved the ring from his pocket. the cold metal placed onto the pale skin just above her stomach.
seungjun barely glances over the piece of jewelry, or up at his girlfriend whose expression shifts into confusion – he expects the question, the shocked wondering of what was the ring for. but he wants to distract her with the teasingly slow and languid kisses he leaves across her abdomen, ones dipping lower and lower until hes against the waistband of her short. an annoyed noise in his chest when the hand presses to his shoulder in an attempt to get his attention, and he has to lift his head to look at her, nose crinkled.
“i just saw it and thought it’d look pretty on you. it’s nothing.”
his thumbs stroke the inside of her hips as he watches her try to fathom his actions and he slips them under the waist to get her attention back on him. the flutter of her lashes as she looks down at him, finally. a chuckle breathless on his lips as he squeezes gently, voice full of mirth and amusement.
“i can either answer your questions or i can put my tongue to better use, babe. what do you want?”
21 -- DEAN // oh and i’m by your side. so tell me. i wanna know you. i really wanna know you. your habit of chewing at your fingers. your tone of voice that is misunderstanding. even all your bad habits. i care baby. // ORDINARY LOVE -- PARK KYUNG ft. PARK BORAM // your actions, words, face. it’s different from my ideal type but i keep getting attracted to you. what can I do? you raise me up and bring me down, you’re not ordinary. i can feel it. // WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE -- G.SOUL // admit it and say it. that things are hard for you too, babe. pretending everything’s okay. like there’s no problem at all oh no. what does this silence mean. we were once crazy in love. looks like there’s no fairytale-like love. // EMPTINESS -- MADTOWN // i said the empty words, go away. you were probably hurt by it, i’m sorry. i was a fool. what more is there to say? in the cafe where i’m waiting for you. it’s filled with couples. but i’m here alone, waiting for you.
the letter from his grandmother was pinned between his thumb and the inside of his book, hiding the two pages of neatly winding script that was beautiful and bitter to read for seungjun. there was a mounting burn behind his eyes, the back of his hand rubbed at his nose as he sniffled. another unopened envelope was set across his knees as he sat against the back shelf in the library. this one had his mothers name written across in ink, in seungjun’s handwriting and the muggle postage stamp in the corner that he’d had to bother estelle on how to use. not that that matter when there was a ‘return to sender’ scrawled across the psychiatric wards address.
every word compounded on his chest, strangling out the breaths until he was softly gasping and dropped his head forward into his knees to try to compose himself. it was useless. his grandparents had forbidden outside contact through the ward and when they’d found out he’d sent a letter, had written a tentative warning. one that was sickly sweet in cursive, but seungjun read only one way. they’d obliviated every memory his mother had of him. that they had believed it would be easier for her to be treated and get better if she wasn’t stressed with the knowledge of her son. if she wasn’t distraught and unsettled by worry and concern for him.
‘it was in both your best interests. we only want to help both of you.’
seungjun was mouthing the words when a noise jerked his head up, eyes wide and stung red when he looked from the book that had been knocked from its place and to estelle. it was instinctive to clamp the book shut with the letter, climbing up to his full height in haste and wiping away the lingering tears on his cheeks with the sleeve of his robes. “it was a sad story,” he dismisses, glancing over the title of the book in his hands and reading about the care of dragons. the curse rolled through his mind as he hoped she wouldn’t notice. “so many dragons are misunderstood. it’s sad,” seungjun tries to press the lie tightly, hoping she can’t undo it.
a trickle from his nose is wiped by the back of his hand as he steals a glance of her. all he wanted to do was walk over to her, to coil his arms around her firmly and bury his face into her shoulder. he wanted her fingers to comb through his hair, for each slender digit to stroke at his wounds until the shattered pieces were dislodged from his heart and he could breathe easier. but the mere thought of such an action shuddered through him, trembling his exhale and causing him to cough. he couldn’t go to her.
he couldn’t.
and so he grimace a smile, inching a step back away from her. “i think i’m getting sick. i should go to the infirmary.” seungjun regrets the explanation, knowing its too much. that estelle didn’t need to know where he was going or what was wrong. what did he expect her to do? stop him, follow him. it was better if she didn’t – or that’s what he repeated in his head like a mantra he was trying to believe.
