SIGNATURE DOOR

a door that belongs to nowhere yet feels right at home on the beach. half-painted and half-forgotten, the wooden arch door stands, a quiet contradiction of neglect and care. the top half is dressed in tired blue, as the paint peels in tired flakes, curling, holding and falling. whilst the bottom bears hesitant stroked of fresh light blue paint which halts about half way up with no hopes to be finished. between the cracks of the wood, scattered across are peeling stickers from random bars reminiscing of wild black out nights with mismatched graffiti scrawled all over. messy penmanship in sharpie with crude jokes from classics "call for a good time" to thick lines and scribbles scratching out hidden love notes and messages. the rusted hinges slowly corroded by time and salt. each holds on with a stubborn sort of charm yet their loose screws jut out dangerously, ready to scar and scrap those who come near. the knocker, a bronze fading anchor dangles dead centre. the fish tail handle that curves at touch , scaly and weatherworn that slightly invites the touch to those who are curious enough to try. to tide the door is a blur of memories mashed together. nothing is clean and proper, it's lived and used, a gateway that is something more. a mixture of growth and moving forward, words that are long forgotten. maybe snippets of his childhood home. then it really begs to question what part of the doors reflect his home.

the swiss army knife tide carries is a compact and striking tool, its silvery-blue finish gleaming subtly under the light. the sides are engraved with a nautical pattern of coiled ropes, anchors, and gentle wave motifs, perfectly reflecting tide’s carefree and ocean-inspired personality. the blade, sharp and pointed, is sleek and practical, though it isn’t the tool’s most notable feature. a sturdy bottle opener flips out easily, often used by tide to pop open a cold one as he relaxes and takes life as it comes.

Two doors seemingly dimmed held by a combination knob/latch. You must rotate it right, left, then right again before the keyhole presents itself. The doors are mahagony and in place of thepillars are two terra cotta pillars covered by l paper aterns and fairy lights. The door is made is made of mahogany and pine. Most are surprised to see the door isnt more garrish ut it was the essence of how it was decorated during his last days, trying to make a slighly less cramped room a welcoming place for his mother and himself. WHAT DO YOUR MUSE’S WINGS LOOK LIKE? [ example adult or juvenile wings, color morphs, sexual dimorphism, any injuries etc. ]

He has the wings od an Adult Hoatzin. They are Brown and stripped on the outside but a very vibrant orange on the inside. In between the the cross section are elongated blue wings, They are not uneven due to injury but more because of the Hoatzin structure. The wings make him more suited for assignments in high altitudes for long periods of time. Not say he's ineffective on the ground but Atlas is an aerial artist with longetivity. More to be added

The Bardo is a more ornate version of a deluxe room at the inn. There are images of artists and books splayed across. And fairy lights. Outside the window is of course fog but it is a very humble adobe. Its the type where he is very introspective in there, being his true self. SIGNATURE DOOR — jo's door is perhaps closer to a window than a door-- a clear pane of glass with a freshly painted white frame, that opens to the side with a cranking knob. it sits snugly in the air, about six inches above the ground, necessitating a raised leg to go over the threshold. the door itself is about six feet tall, with a a single white beam running horizontally across it, dividing the pane into two. on either side of the door are cream colored curtains, always seeming to flutter in non-existent wind, and always seeming to be dappled with sun in the way that it sits in the last golden hour or two of light.

jo isn't sure if the door comes from memory or from himself, and part of him is too scared to really ask. if we're being honest, it mostly stems from his essence, though certain elements of it draw on core elements of his childhood. that being said, there is no matching, perfectly identical door out there for him to find (even if part of him always, unconsciously, is keeping an eye out for one).

WHAT DO YOUR MUSE’S WINGS LOOK LIKE? — jo wears the wings of a european robin. they're not very large -- if we're being honest, they seem slightly small against his (fairly) lanky form. the outside of the wings are a soft grey-ish tan, in a fairly muted tone. on the underside, they're a downy white, flecked with the occasional black feather. his wings tend to express his feelings when his face doesn't -- he's not as good at schooling them as he is at schooling his face, and they'll flick slightly when he's irked.

if i had to say, if he had ever entered, the base shape it would take would be an old boston apartment, one that's a bit small and cramped, filled with odd little nooks and a lot of light and air, the smell of the harbor wafting in, coupled with a late autumn chill. it wouldn't be the space he died in, but a space that's almost adjacent, stripped bare of any remnants of the person that broke his heart. it would be a place designed for the quiet of being alone in a bustling city, if that makes sense.

WHAT ARE THEY LIKE AT THE DEPARTMENT OF AFTERLIFE AFFAIRS? — quiet! not here to cause a fuss! just wants to do his job and get it done with! is probably working more often than he isn't working, so there's that sense of him always being busy. i think i mentioned this in the server, but i really imagine him as that co-worker who you tell a bunch of your problems to, and then a little while after, you realize that you don't know anything about them. in that regard, it's also easy for him to fade into the background since more often than not he's hanging around romeo, so he can just let romeo take the spotlight. anyway! quiet! good-meaning! often has an open ear, and if he's judging you (which he may often be!) it's hard to pick up on unless you know him.

HOW DO THEY LOOK LIKE/DRESS LIKE IN THE AFTER? — well he isn't sure! in the after, jo opts for light, neutral colors and items with a slight drape to them. think tan sweater vests over white shirts, soft brown sweaters, wide legged linen slacks, etc. it's all stuff that's meant to look put together, while also allowing for ease and comfort.

(also, he is almost always wearing a watch, even if it doesn't quite work anymore.)

SIGNATURE DOOR

the door , similarly to its grymm , is made to stand out . it's a brilliant crimson , vivid and bright in a way that practically screams ' look at me ! ' . the wood beneath the paint — not that the paint ever cracks or peels , of course — is smooth and rich , carved with elegant and sweeping curves that make it appear almost larger than it is . while only one half of the door opens , it's made to look like a double door , split down the middle , with two large panels of glass creating a circular window that hints at shadow just past the door but offers no true glimpse of what may be beyond . no matter where the door stands , roses bloom on either side , climbing and tangling , deep green vines and bright red blooms embracing the doorway like they have protected it forever . they never seem to shrivel up , but they never seem to grow either : all they do is linger at the door's edges . if you're not careful , your arms may brush against the thorns hidden in the foliage . it's almost as if the door is made to beckon you in and keep you at bay at the same time — mysterious , beautiful , and compelling .

the dha has a presence as commanding as suni — it's a traditional thai blade , beautifully crafted , almost as if centuries of craftsmanship have gone into its creation . its blade is long and just slightly curved , forged from polished steel . if one were to look closely , they would see the a faint , rippling pattern across its surface — the dance of flowing water etched into metal . the edge itself is razor - sharp , and along its length , faint engravings of the thai abugida write out prayers for protection , blessings meant to guard both the bearer and those they are bringing to the afterlife . at the point where the hilt meets the blade , a small brass ring glints under the light . the hilt itself is wrapped in black and gold , fabric woven into an intricate pattern . at the base of the hilt , a red ribbon is tied — a shock of color against the rest of the muted tones of the blade . on the top , a holy white thread is wrapped over the red ; the same traditional white thread suni remembers wearing on her left hand following her baci . she takes perfect care of it , and while she's not accustomed to using weapons , she's grown to trust this one immensely due to its familiarity and the way it is reminiscent of her home .

WHAT DO YOUR MUSE’S WINGS LOOK LIKE?

sunisa proudly wears the wings of a female red - and - yellow barbet . they're not absurdly large , but not too small either — simply somewhere in between , as if they were made for her body . none of the plumage has been plucked , nor does she have any scars or injuries on her wings . she takes care of them as tediously as she does the rest of her appearance . the feathers themselves are mostly dark , a shiny black that seems glossy in most lighting . she considers the feathers on the underside to be dull and drab ; they're a shade of brown that she doesn't particular adore . that said , the patterns on her wings make up for it — a smattering of delicate white spots , markings that , from a distance , almost appear to emulate a string of pearls . towards the base of the wings , a few yellow feathers peek through the brown and black , hinting at the rest of a barbet's markings .

WHAT SHAPE DOES THEIR BARDO USUALLY TAKE?

the bardo sits quietly in a sprawling wildflower field she remembers only faintly , from a rare , peaceful day in belgium . the flowers sway even when there is no breeze to move them , as if they must be as wild and unrestrained as they are beautiful . their vibrant colors stretch as far as the eye can see — or , at least , into the fog as the bardo ends . rising from the center of the field is a grand but ( outwardly ) understated house , shockingly smaller than the home she had in life but still built with the subtle touch of wealth . it looks as if it's made to host soirées , with a vast collection of hallways an rooms , windows peeking in to brightly lit spaces . inside , the house is pure 1980s' decadence. it's touched in luxurious excess , with sleek , mirrored surfaces , dark lacquered furniture , and rich , muted shades of red . paintings cover the wall , replicas of all the famous artists she so terribly admired when living . crystal chandeliers cast fractured light across rooms , which are filled with velvet and leather seating and polished marble floors . here and there , brass and glass detailing glints . despite all its moving pieces , it is almost always so cold that it feels frozen in its loneliness , an ode to a life that was just a little too perfect on the surface .

at the department of afterlife affairs , suni prefers to stay efficient and work on her own . she's the sort of coworker who never wastes time on pleasantries — after all , who enjoys small talk — and most of her interactions quick and laced with a cool detachment , like she can't be bothered to linger for much longer than necessary . that said , she’s certainly resourceful, ambitious, and quietly calculating : while colleagues may describe her as a bit too intense , she knows how to soften herself when needed . one can predict that she'll ask for a favor when she saunters up to their desk with a rare smile and the intent to charm . it's a weapon she only pulls out when she's at a dead end, but she knows how to use it nonetheless .

ugh . who died and put them in charge ? seriously , though , they represent everything she despises — power she can't reach , and a reminder that even in death , she's still under someone's thumb . though she keeps that opinion to herself , being their pawn is an insult that she cannot and will not ignore . she obeys them only because it suits her now — they're a force she'll endure , only because she's waiting for the right moment to slip free of their control and reclaim what she believes is rightfully hers .

suni's appearance in the after is as carefully curated as it was in life . she leans toward clean , tailored lines in black , white , and red : her wardrobe is a monochrome palette with occasional splashes of boldness in crimson . gold jewelry , pearls , and diamonds adorn her often , though she wears them with restraint , letting her mere presence do most of the talking . her outifts are meticulously chosen to radiate a timeless sort of elegance — they are each extravagant and subtle all at once , commanding attention without the need for extra flair . her makeup is sharp and clean , sometimes accentuated with a bold red lip . her eyes are often outlined with just enough darkness to draw attention to her gaze , and her hair is cropped to her collarbone , a sleek and defiant style that makes the lines of her face seem a bite more harsh . she believes she need not beg for admiration ; it's her right , and she dresses accordingly .
