I don't know if y'all have been keeping up to date with what's been going on with Sony, but if you haven't, they decided to cancel the release of The Interview after "hackers" calling themselves Guardians of Peace sent them threats saying "We have already promised a Christmas gift to you," the message continued. "This is the beginning of the gift. … Soon all the world will see what an awful movie Sony Pictures Entertainment has made. The world will be full of fear. Remember the 11th of September 2001. We recommend you to keep yourself distant from the places at that time. (If your house is nearby, you’d better leave.) Whatever comes in the coming days is called by the greed of Sony Pictures Entertainment. All the world will denounce the SONY." This follows the obvious email leaks of Sony co-chairman Amy Pascal and Dreamworks movie producer Scott Rudin, releasing distasteful comments about Obama and other celebrities. The hacker group has targeted others recently as well. Many actors, producers, writers and more have tweeted about the events. Jimmy Kimmel tweeted that Sony caving to the hackers was "an un-American act of cowardice that validates terrorist actions and sets a terrifying precedent." Steve Carell, Ben Stiller, and many others are upset as well. Whether you were anticipating the movie or thought it was stupid, what's going on is ridiculous. And what's most concerning isn't the movie being cancelled, but the fact that "hackers" can have their demands met by a major corporation. The CEO of Snapchat was targeted as well, and the release of thousands of pictures was threatened. Read up on this stuff guys. god bless
