Beautiful islands near Isla Mababoy, Masbate
by Jay Jaboneta
Last July 2011, I traveled from Manila to Legaspi City in Albay then to Pilar, Sorsogon to catch a boat ride to Isla Mababoy in Brgy. Guinhadap in the municipality of Monreal, province of Masbate.
We were going to formally inaugurate and bless the Mababoy Elementary School Extension and the 25 Bagong Pag-asa yellow boats the next day which were built through donations that came in to the Masbate Funds for Little Kids project.
We were quite excited to finally see the place but nothing can compare to the natural beauty of Isla Mababoy and the islands surrounding it.
This is the video when I woke up the morning of the inauguration.
And to my surprise, baby sharks roam free near the shore.
Seeing the beautiful beaches of Guinhadap and the natural beauty of the entire place, I forgot about the roller-coaster waves we had to endure the previous day going there (Typhoon Juaning just left).
It surely made up for the 1 hour plane ride to Legaspi then another 1 hour land trip to Pilar, Sorsogon and then another 3 hours of boat ride to Isla Mababoy.
