Companions are good.
We celebrated Buddah's Birthday with Korean barbeque. Windows opened full to the patter of rain and Koreans rushing to warm, dry places. Well past midnight, many cars, many cabs, but none who would stop for a foreigner on a rainy night. We walked. In the pouring rain across river stepping stones we picked our way under the watchful eye of a heron. Soaked to the bone we said smiling goodnights, parting homeward and marveling at the vast experience of life.
