"Cam, baby." He didn't change much, which made the nurses hate him but fuck them. He wasn't here for them. Kneeling in front of the boy who lost his mind, Seb smiled warmly and patted his thigh. "Did ya miss me? I bought you something." He moved, then, to sit beside him on the bed; lightly tugging Cam under his arm as he pulled out a soft pink plush toy. "To keep you company when I'm gone," he murmured, settling it in his lap as he kissed his forehead. "Okay?" Fuck he missed Cam. But this was it
Cam didn’t favor this room very much. It was small, it was bland, and so many people could fit in it. Their echoes and screams bounced off the walls and straight to him, since everyone else seemed deaf to their commands and comments. Perhaps they were made of glass, too. Since no one else seemed to look at them like Cam did.
It was difficult to remember the man in front of him. He didn’t have wings, nor did he have horns or burn wounds or claws. But he was awfully nice. His voice was strong and assuring, and the women and men in white seemed to see him, as well.
The object was soft and gentle to the touch, and Cam giggled as he squeezed the small toy and hugged it tightly. “Pink.” His lips smacked together and he smiled some more. Colors were so nice.
He handed it to his other friend, the friend with dark hair and burnt legs. The friend that was made of glass. “Don’t lose that. No no no no.” And he went back to humming along with his friend, forgetting that the man was there.
