Edythe Antonia Masen Cullen, 24, is the youngest of her rather large and unconventional family. Hailing originally from Chicago, she was orphaned due to a tragic accident that killed both of her parents, and left her severely wounded when she was a toddler, and it took nearly five months for her to make a recovery. In that timeframe, she was cared for by Doctor Carine Howard, a young and brilliant surgeon at the time, and eventually the good doctor’s heartstrings were pulled into adopting the girl. They lived in relative quiet peace for two years, before Carine met and fell in love with Earnest Cullen, and his niece and nephew, Royal and Jessamine Hale, whom he was raising after their own parents died due to illness. The couple married when Edythe was five years old, and the family relocated to Tennessee for a time, eventually acquiring two more foster children, Eleanor and Archie, before they moved a second time, all the way to Alaska, due to Carine’s expertise being needed at a hospital in Anchorage.

Growing up, Edythe was considered an oddity among many of her peers, being unusually intense and sensitive to the thoughts of others. As a result, she doesn’t really have a lot of friends beyond her “siblings”, though she considers Archie to be her favorite brother, as they have a bond that transcends the kind she has with the others, as well as his uncanny ability to predict the future. Often times, it’s as if they can read each other’s minds, with Archie sharing his visions and Edythe experiencing the world in a way that so few ever do.

Carine and Earnest are very loving and patient parents, and they encourage their children to learn and try new things at every opportunity, resulting in Edythe discovering that she is a musical prodigy thanks to her diagnosis for synesthesia; for her, it’s relatively mild, as she can see colors while she plays music, and can hear music while looking at colors. While it’s stronger when music is involved, every sound Edythe hears becomes a color to her vision, and vice versa.

After graduating high school, Edythe did about two years at the University of Alaska, before deciding to leave the nest in order to truly see what the world has to offer. She’s been accepted at the University of California just to get her feet wet, and she finds life in a more sunny state to be a little overstimulating, but she enjoys it nonetheless.

Belle Delacroix: Roommate. Edythe thinks Belle is very sweet in personality, and she likes her tastes in books, though she does often get into trouble.

Joe Hardy: Roommate. This is definitely a strange one. As lovable a goofball he is, Joe has a sort of aura that makes Edythe side eye him sometimes, and she’s not entirely sure she buys the whole “psychic” business, but...he has an intuition that’s rather uncanny. He reminds her of Archie in some ways, and thus they become decent friends.

Cecelia Carter: Roommate. A very sweet and hardworking woman, in Edythe’s opinions. Due to Edythe not sleeping often, she is normally the only one awake when Cecelia returns home from odd hours at the hospital, and she always gives the woman some tea and a chance to talk about her shift before heading off for bed.

Rapunzel Carter: Neighbor. Very bubbly and friendly; Edythe likes her energy, though she’s heard some crazy stories about the blonde in question.

Serena Carlisle: Neighbor. A dancer, someone that Edythe can enjoy spending time with. Multiple times she has helped Serena prepare for dance recitals by playing music on her piano for her to dance to.

Anakin Skywalker: Neighbor. Another odd one. Edythe has heard him screaming at odd hours of the night, and several times she’s found him sleep walking the hallways, usually with objects in hand that don’t belong to him. She quietly thanks her lucky stars that she’s not his roommate.

Beau Swan: Neighbor. A naturally shy and clumsy lad, but with a heart of gold. Edythe is a little bit more than entranced with how blue his eyes are. Shut up, it’s not a crush.

bio: Two years ago, Lydia Martin’s world was shattered when her best friend was killed by demons known as The Oni. REGRET consumed her, having not understood enough about the Oni in time to stop them from murdering her friend. And so, Lydia Martin vies to become an expert at protecting the innocent from those supernatural creatures that roam the earth. She hears of the hunter’s school through a friend that outsources her ancient texts from time to time. Attending the school gives her the discipline and education she had been craving. But as months pass by into her first year, Lydia keeps finding herself waking in the night covered in sweat, tossing and turning from disturbing dreams. And occasionally she hears voices as she walks through the halls. Confused and scared of what might be happening to her, she has yet to tell anyone. But it won’t be long before a dead body is found and the scream inside of her is unleashed. ( spoiler alert, she’s a banshee if you hadn't figured it out )

Background

Joe Hardy had a pretty normal life up until he was fifteen years old. He grew up in a good steady home in a small town by the sea, with plenty of friends and good grades all through school. He and his elder brother Frank dreamed of being detectives like their father, and when they showed promise in such a career, Fenton helped train them to give them a leg up over the competition. Soon, they began assisting Fenton in some of his cases, and even solved plenty of their own.

Unfortunately, over the years the Hardy brothers earned their own reputation, and with a reputation comes enemies. During a rather terrifying case against a group calling themselves the “Assassins,” their safe house was descended upon, bullet hailing from every which direction. Joe survived, just barely, because Frank used himself as a human shield to protect his younger brother, dying in the process. The event traumatized Joe to such an extent that he suffered a mental breakdown when he heard that most of the people who attacked them had escaped police custody. Using all of his training, Joe tracked down the Assassins himself, using a bat as his main weapon of choice to bludgeon them to death, killing the last three with a gun.

While the revenge was understandable, the judge and jury were highly alarmed by how violently the men had been murdered, and thus Joe was sent to Briarcliff. Whether this place was supposed to help him or punish him, Joe wasn’t sure. All he knew for sure was that the Assassins were dead, and his brother’s ghost still haunted him, (quite literally), but at least Frank is better company than most.

Joseph (Joe) Irving Hardy is the youngest son to internationally famous private investigator Fenton Hardy, of Bayport, Massachusetts, and the younger brother to Frank. Between his father, and his mother Laura, a research librarian, and his aunt Gertrude, a total history buff, it was safe to say that one of the things Joe was raised with was an abundance of knowledge.

Since he was a child, Fenton knew that his family would always be in danger due to his career, and the various connections he had with every police force in the country, and the FBI and CIA for good measure, so Joe and Frank were trained by Fenton in all sorts of detective know how in order to survive. So fascinated with the blazes of glory that being a detective could offer him, Joe followed in Fenton’s footsteps for quite a number of years, with Frank by his side, saving people and putting bad guys away with that special Hardy touch, and some of that impossible Hardy luck.

Unfortunately, Joe was already being pulled in two different directions; aside from the detective work, he coveted a secret that he had to hold tight for dear life, for fear of being thought of as crazy. Ever since he was a toddler, Joe had been clairvoyant, an apparent gift that runs in the family but skips every generation of two, on his mother’s side. He can see spirits, and shadow figures, as well as get visions of people and their pasts by touching objects. He may not be able to see the future, but he can read someone’s emotional aura in order to get to know them better, though it leaves him more drained than anything. As a child, his family thought he just had an overactive imagination, until he got older and his “imaginary friends” weren’t going away, and thus he was put through several psychologists in order to know what was “wrong” with him. Joe learned quickly to clam up by thirteen, and try to play as normal.

Since leaving Bayport, Joe has decided to try and shed the secrecy, and he’s offered his services to some police forces as a psychic consultant, able to solve quite a number of cases this way with shocking accuracy. His job has brought him to California, which helps as the sunny weather keeps him active.

Despite his almost macabre second sight, Joe is a rather carefree and happy go lucky personality; he loves to make people laugh, and often pulls harmless pranks on his friends, while also instigating “adventures” that usually land him in some trouble. People are naturally drawn to him for these reasons, and if he can offer them some extra help, then he’d be glad to, so long as people respect that his gift is part of him and he’s not faking anything. That’s usually the worst part of the whole thing, not being believed.

Cecelia Carter: Roommate. He finds her profession to be admirable. Often shows up at the hospital with some snacks, in case he feels that she needs the food, and he likes trying to make her laugh after she’s had a hard day.

Edythe Cullen: Roommate. Ridiculously beautiful, but incredibly intense, like she’s trying to get into his head. For someone who’s brother can see the future, she’s skeptical of Joe’s own gift, but he tries not to hold it against her.

Rapunzel Carter: Neighbor. One of his best friends; they met on a penpal website in high school, and it was a happy coincidence when they ended up living in the same building. They get into the most trouble together.

Selena Carlisle: Neighbor. A fellow ballerina; Joe took ballet for about fifteen years before giving it up to pursue the detective thing. He loves to help her practice for recitals, and is always willing to help her out with anything else she needs.

Anakin Skywalker: Neighbor. Joe caught the guy sleepwalking nearly right off the roof once. He seems nice, but his energy tends to make Joe feel like he just gulped a gallon of 5 Hour Energy

Beau Swan: Neighbor. His almost uncanny resemblance to Frank threw Joe off like something else, but he likes the guy. He’s a gentle sort, and a total mother hen, so Joe always knows that Beau is a dependable guy when trouble occurs.

Beaufort (Beau) Swan has never known life without divorced parents. His father, Chief Charlie Swan of Forks, Washington, is a socially awkward man with a heart of gold, while his mother, Renee Dwyer, is a scatterbrained, seize the day kind of woman. How the two met, briefly fell in love and had a child is...kind of beyond Beau’s comprehension, because when he was four months old, Renee packed her bags and her son and hightailed it straight to California. Growing up, he lived most of his life in the Sunshine State, while spending at least one month a year in the summer in Forks with Charlie, until he was twelve years old and put his foot down on not wanting to return to the place with so little sun and too much vegetation, pulling a compromise that Charlie would visit him instead.

A quiet and introverted klutz, Beau has spent nearly his entire life trying to take care of Renee. She loves her son to pieces and would bend over backwards to make him happy...but she’s just not “mother” material. Beau learned how to cook food, and pay the bills for the house, learning his way around taxes by the time he was thirteen, and getting jobs under the table to help make sure he and Renee stayed afloat, since she couldn’t hold down a job for longer than seven months at a time. During this time period, the family of two moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and Renee eventually met her next husband, Phil, who was a Minor Leagues baseball player, and they got married by the time Beau was fourteen years old.

Unfortunately, with Phil moving around a lot due to tryouts, Renee became a bit miserable being stuck at home, so Beau offered to move in with Charlie when he was seventeen, to give his mother the chance to travel again. While the move was a bit painful on Beau’s end, since he still didn’t like Forks very much, he eventually was able to settle, make some friends, and even bond with his father more than he ever had before. When he was nineteen, he was accepted into an art school and left Forks again to pursue his dreams.

Now, he’s back in California again, looking to make a career on his art whilst also keeping his head above water with more practical jobs in a coffee shop and a bookstore. Maybe someday, his own drifting can come to an end, but for the time being he’s rather content with living his life day by day.

The kingdom of Bayport resides right beside the sea, with it’s main source of income being international trading and deep sea fishing. It’s a larger kingdom than most people expect, as after the shore the lands expand into farming territory, and then luscious forest as far as the eyes can see.

When Frances -- known as Frank -- was born to the beloved King and Queen, the bells rang, and the celebrations in court lasted for several days. He was a bit of a sickly child, having caught and survived several diseases before the age of ten, before his health took an upward swing, and everything started looking better. He was given the best education in mathematics, history, astronomy, astrology, genealogy, and others, while also trained in combat, archery and falconry. Among the grounds of the palace, he’s usually found in the library, spending his days reading to his heart’s content, or out hunting with his younger brother, Joe, whom he loves more than life itself. He considers Joe his best friend.

One would think living as a prince, heir to the Throne even, would mean Frank has the best life, but the stress began to build by the time he was seventeen years old. He’s taught by the best, but he frets about how he can make a good king. He’s intelligent and generous and handsome, but he can’t seem to make himself even talk to a romantic prospect. He’s capable and talented, but he drinks himself into blackouts when he’s particularly anxious.

Frank only came to Bridgerton to get his parents to relent on their concerns over whether or not he can find a marriage partner. Men, women, everything in between, all are fair game to try and win his heart, but don’t expect it to come easily.

Lady Anne Boleyn is descended from royalty on her mother’s side; from a very young age, she has served Queens from two different countries as a Lady in Waiting, first in Austria, and then spending most of her life in France within the French court. She is highly educated in many things, such as mathematics, astronomy, penmanship, genealogy and history. She is also learned in domestic skills, described as the most charming dancer, music and singing. With her long raven locks, and her piercing black eyes, she is almost an exotic beauty to her own people; unlike many English women, Anne is also loudly outspoken and highly opinionated. While it makes her fascinating in conversation, in which she has quite the charismatic charm, behind closed doors it can make her a bit unbearable to others. 

After her time in France, Anne was called back home for a betrothal that fell through, with another following quickly after, by which the betrothal was broken by Cardinal Wolsey on behalf of King Henry the Eighth, due to her betrothed being promised to another. King Henry set his eyes on Anne for his next mistress, even elevating her to noble status as Marquess of Pembrooke, but when it became clear that Henry, and his wife Catherine, could not be divorced by the Catholic church, Anne gave up waiting. She is young and beautiful, but not for long, and the sooner she finds a husband, the more secure her place in this world may be. And, God willing, she may find herself a husband who will love only her; Anne is possessive, she is not one to share.
