The distance helps with the bond. It’s not as strong as it used to be during eighth year. Distance makes it dormant, as the healers said many years ago. Ever so often when Draco comes back, it roars back to life whenever he’s near Harry. They mutually agree to stay away. Until they don’t.

Already week 2 and 3 of the winter @gwbexchange have come and gone!

Draco had many Christmas traditions over the years, but only one is his favorite.

FIC: Harry Potter and the Invasion of the Slytherins (T, 6.1K)

Harry just wanted to bake in peace. He didn't ask for Pansy to invade his friend group with her sheer willpower and Slytherin co-conspirators. But before he knows it, the Slytherins have regular access to his Floo. And then Draco Malfoy starts hanging around while Harry whips up endless birthday cakes and baked concoctions. Funny thing, Harry doesn't actually mind Draco's company. Not at all.

FIC: Ice-Kissed (G, 2.3k)

Professors Potter and Malfoy have very different ideas when it comes to their lessons. Draco, for one, is dedicated to giving his students the best Potions education in all of Europe. Potter is ... Well, Potter keeps taking his Defense classes outside to make snow angels.

Summary: harry’s tipsy after ron and hermione's engagement party, and he's in a sappy, maudlin mood when he writes what he is well aware is the world's worst love poetry. it's not a disaster until ron's excitable owl snatches the VERY PERSONAL AND EXTREMELY TOP SECRET poem and delivers it STRAIGHT TO MALFOY. shut up. it is NOT his fault. the little hearts written around malfoy's name had NOTHING to do with it.
