So basically 2011 was the worst year ever.
A lot of absolute shit happened this year that made it the worst. However, a lot of really really amazing things happened. And since I don't want to spill my every last insecurity with the internet, I'm gonna focus on the good things.
I met Daniel Radcliffe after H2$
I won 3rd place out of 500 people from 13-18 in a poetry contest
I went to a Darren Criss concert
I got drunk for the first time
I met Ashley who is now one of my closest friends (and whom I'd better meet soooooon)
I made new friends, one of whom is another one of my closest friends
I said that everyone was the "same exact person as me except 30 and male" until I finally discovered Alyson Hannigan who is the same exact person as me except pretty and talented and 38
I met a shit load of awesome people there, whom I love and miss dearly
I saw the last HP movie before all those suckers waiting in line
I attended 3 wizard wrock concerts
A random man in the city told me I was beautiful
I learned that Tyra Banks didn't get her boobs until she was 18 (so there's still hope there)
I played spin the bottle for the first time and kissed a different boy even though that doesn't count
I started a new writing class
And made awesome new friends there too
I learned to embrace my love for little kid things
I took a trip to a Disney theme park 3 times
I met other people on Tumblr too
I started learning how to drive
I discovered How I Met Your Mother
Which is my life now so basically I discovered my life
I met DanRad again and almost died of a heart attack
I met some of the Starkids
AND ALSO THIS WAS THE YEAR THAT I HAD MY INTIMATE MOMENT WITH BROSENTHAL, KIDS, IT'S A MAGICAL STORY OF HOW WE ARE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER
That's the first time ever that that's happened
I spent 4 days inside my house watching HIMYM
Which is awesome and not at all sad
And was only a few days ago
I passed an honors math class
Which was like a fucking miracle
I was accepted into a writing program at Oxford University for 2 weeks this summerand I'm so excited I talk about it all the time sorry
I saw Catch Me If You Can
Which are both awesome and not on Broadway anymore
And I memorized the soundtrack to all three
I also memorized Nothing Suits Me Like Suit, Let's Go to The Mall and Best Night Ever
I discovered The Hunger Games
I actually, including Leaky Con, have met Joe Moses 3 times (he doesn't remember me tho obviously)
And Joe Walker and Joey twice
I went to California for the first time
I started to think that I'm okay looking for the first time since sixth grade
I got actually excited about the future maybe
Okay all of that makes it sound like this was a really kick-ass year. Which it was. But. All that shitty stuff happened too, and trust me if you knew all of it you would hate 2011 too. But here's to being "excited about the future maybe!" Happy New Year, my lovelies, and may it not suck as much as 2011.
