Happy Winter Solstice!

In lieu of a full painting, a little doodle of Gwynnad, my deer/faun/spirit of winter being decidedly less hostile than his previous portrayals.

Thormundar - Gwynnad, the Winter God

"Wandering the forest in the dead of winter? Wrong move." The second of the seasonal deer characters of Thormundar, I kept the widescreen format from the previous piece (Herneus, the Hunter God) for this one. This one was actually put in the backburner for a few months, but I decided to finish it up two or so weeks ago. I'm a big sucker for glacial ice chunks, so painting the ice chunks and the shards was pretty fun (The shards were also set to a lower opacity at first so I could pick colours from the intersections), though I had to add a little vignette to pull the shards out of the background.

Something I was painting in between projects (coming soon!), I missed painting a deer character and something with a wintery theme to it. Who would've guessed that I have a character that fit both themes? 

The last time I painted Gwynnad was in 2019, and this time I wanted to paint a full-body version of him, seeing as his legs were hidden in the previous painting. The alternate version adds the sword detailing I did for his original design way back in the past, inspired by Icelandic stave designs and the derived designs of the same on Kratos' Leviathan Axe in God of War (2018).

It has been far to hot recently so I would like to know how dose your ocs deal with the heat?

You don't gotta tell me, hahaha; we've been getting our shit rocked here in Southeast Asia. As a lot of my OCs are based on me to varying degrees, and the majority of them are covered in fur, they will absolutely not do well in the heat and probably be slumped over under the shade with a fan blowing on medium (don't wanna burn the motor out) and water/a cool drink in hand.

Of course, Gwynnad, being the embodiment of winter might fare better than the rest with his cold powers... or maybe he'd be the most out of it of the bunch.
