#hackberry butterfly

@foolishrats submitted: I found this lil fella on my porch and safely relocated them.

Found in central Texas, wondering what species they are. My mom says Tomato horn worm, but when looking them up they're a lot fatter than this one.

What a little cutie! This is one of the hackberry emperor butterflies in the genus Asterocampa, and not a hornworm. Hornworms, which are sphinx moths in the family Sphingidae, have a single horn on their butt. This sweet lil friend has two head horns and two butt tails instead! Fancy! :)

This week the outside of my home has been COVERED in butterfly’s!! :) It’s like Finn casted changeas secondth!! (Tho of course his butterfly’s are much more yellow)

There’s so many of them because its sunny and not humid anymore :D

I only took a 2 photos bc I didn’t want to bother them :) these 2 posed for me on a car 💛One of them has hurt wings :( but thankfully it could fly just fine!!

I love butterflies so much because of Finn, but because my love for Finn turned into an unhinged obsession, so has my love for butterflies 😭
