hadley thought that it was her friend in the shower. she’d slept in because it was saturday and when she woke up the other side of the bed was empty. she thought her friend was in the shower! so she’d gone into the bathroom without even thinking about it. “don’t use all the hot water, i need to shower, too...” she called over the noise of the shower. then she’d noticed the clothes on the floor. they weren’t the pajamas her friend had worn to bed. and the head poking around the shower curtain wasn’t her friends either. hadley squeaked in surprise but instead of turning around and leaving the bathroom she... shut the bathroom door with her still inside. “i’m sorry... i thought you were...” she waved a dismissive hand. “where’s everyone at?”

connection: teacher 

hadley stopped in her tracks when the teacher had called her name. she was one step away from the door and all she wanted to do was leave. school wasn’t easy for her -- life wasn’t easy for her. usually the blonde did a good job of putting on a poker face and just dealing it; today was different. maybe the adult had noticed how upset she looked when she entered the classroom, how quiet she was during the class, or her teary eyes leaving the room. whatever the case may be, she now stood in front of their desk wishing to be anywhere else. “yes?”
