She’d been to so many nightclubs in New York they’d all blended together. The wallpaper changed, the themes changed, the music changed, but the heartbeat of such establishments was always familiar. Bodies moving, wild and hungry, bass beats that swirled up from your toes into your chest. Hadley’s gaze caught on someone in the corner, distancing themselves from the dancing throng. That simply wouldn’t do. Who came to a club and didn’t dance? She pushed her way through the crowd, reached out and stole their drink right out of their hands, grinning as she danced a few playful steps backwards. “Come on, I’ll give it back the second you join us. It’s blasphemy to hang out in the corner in a place like this. Dance with me.”
