I just finished read day 8 & 9 for sicktember and they are so cute
I have had this idea for a while but could never find anyone that wrote about it
So my idea is seungcheol anxiety is so high that day but the member seem to be going wild and don’t really listen to him even the quite kids are acting up that leads to cheol having a really bad anxiety attack in front of them and while trying to comfort him they find out he is also running a bad fever
I know you do amazing in writing this but if you don’t want to that is okay
I hope you have the bestest of days

It would be a lie to say that being the leader of a thirteen member boy group was ever easy. But some days were harder than others. Like today.
Seungcheol had overslept, and was jolted awake by the sound of a loud thump and Chan’s ringing laughter. That sound usually brought so much joy to Seungcheol’s life, but today, as his rather late alarm clock, the leader has to quell an impulse to punch the maknae in the face the next time he saw him.
Despite the exhaustion that continued to weigh on him, Seungcheol shot out of bed when he saw the time on his phone screen. Was he waking up too late? Not by a long shot. On a normal work day, his alarm usually went off at minimum one and a half hours before go time, and it was currently just under an hour until then. But Seungcheol’s internal schedule was thrown off, and that was chaotic in a way he didn’t have the mental acuity to process while still shaking off sleep.
The getting ready circus was well under way when Seungcheol was thrown into it. Everyone seemed to have an opinion today. The source of the earlier thump had been Mingyu tripping over his own shoes, and the rapper was still arguing about it with Wonwoo, (and their bickering had probably started prior to the fall, given Chan’s amusement.) Jihoon couldn’t find his favorite practice shirt. Seungkwan had accidentally cut Seokmin in line to brush his teeth, and even though that was solved very quickly, it had involved the loudest member being, well, loud. Jeonghan was in a mood because his hair was in that difficult growing out stage where he couldn’t get it to look ‘right,’ no matter what he did, and sometimes that was too much for him to deal with. Because of that, he’d said something (Seungcheol had yet to figure out what) that had upset Jun, so now Jun was sulking and Minghao was on the warpath.
Seungcheol felt every single word rattling like marbles in his head as he finally pushed his door closed to get changed. He inhaled, long and slow, and held onto the breath. He was off balance, and that needed to change. Fast.
While Seungcheol was pulling on his sneakers, he heard a gentle tap at the door before it opened. “Hyung, have you seen my shoes?” Hansol appeared in the doorway.
“Which ones, Sol?” Seungcheol asked, not looking up as he was nearly done tying his own.
“My dance sneakers.”
Lips quirked to the side, Seungcheol sat up to address his dongsaeng. The sudden movement made the world spin a bit, and the leader blinked to clear his vision, caught off guard but brushing it off as moving too fast for his neck to catch up. Seungcheol exhaled, hands landing on his hips. “I don’t think I’ve seen them, bud. When’s the last time you had them?”
“Yesterday. I wore them home.” Hansol mimicked his hyung, hands finding his hips as he looked off into the distance. “I’m gonna keep looking. Thanks, hyung.” Hansol shot him a thumbs up before disappearing back into the hallway. Seungcheol shook his head as he opened his phone to review the day’s schedule.
And it was a doozy.
Three hours of dance practice in the morning. Two hours of broken up meetings and three more of dance in the afternoon. Solo voice lessons scattered throughout. Multiple members had solo or duo engagements throughout the day.
Yeah. It was going to be a rough one.
*
Seungcheol hadn’t realized how rough the day would be until an hour in. Today’s dance practice felt… off. As the track on the stereo came to a dramatic end, with sweat dripping down his entire body, clothes stuck to his skin in a way that made every inch prickle, the leader waited all of three seconds in his final pose before deflating with a gasping breath. His heartbeat echoed in his ears.
But not loud enough to drown out the immediate chatter of his team.
Seungcheol didn’t usually notice the overlapping noise, not like this. Soonyoung doling out corrections and critiques, members asking clarification questions, some members breaking off and reviewing choreo separately, some members goofing around for the hell of it. And quite loudly at that. Everyone talking all at once, mixed with the sounds of shoes squeaking and music playing from multiple devices, all of it echoing right back from the walls. It was… too much.
Unable to handle it today, Seungcheol removed himself from the situation. No one said a word as the leader walked to the door of the practice room and disappeared into the hallway. It was normal enough for a member to step out for a phone call, or run to the bathroom, or even just take a breather in a new space. But it wasn’t usual, Seungcheol realized, for his ears to still be ringing this badly. Or for his vision to… waver like this. It was making him dizzy, the noise and the blur and the lights and the… all of it. Back pressed against the wall, Seungcheol pressed trembling fingers against his forehead, suddenly assaulted with a throbbing pain throughout his head.
Seungcheol’s heart began to pound in his chest. What was this? What was happening to him? Even with his eyes closed, the room still felt like it was tilting dangerously from one side to the other. His ears wouldn’t stop ringing. His skin was beginning to feel too tight. He…
“Cheollie?!”
Seungcheol’s eyes flew open. He was, somehow, on the floor, back abasing the wall and knees pulled to his chest. Soonyoung was kneeling before him, face inches away from the leader’s. Jihoon stood behind him, watching attentively. “What’s wrong, Coups?” the producer asked.
“I… I don’t know,” Seungcheol began, tone very matter of fact. He swallowed, searching for the words to describe what he was feeling. “After the last run I just felt… overstimulated, and I needed some air, but when I came out here, it just got… worse.”
Soonyoung frowned as Jihoon asked, “Overstimulated how? Noise? Light? Touch?”
“All of it? I think mostly noise, but I’ve also got a bit of that ‘I want to claw my skin off’ feeling.”
Soonyoung nodded sympathetically as he reached both hands forward, gently brushing Seungcheol’s bangs away from his face. As soon as he’d completed the motion, though, the performance leader immediately paused, his face screwing up into an expression of confusion. He grabbed Seungcheol’s face in both of his hands, not enough to hurt, but not gentle either.
“Hyung, I think you have a fever.”
“Huh?”
“Jihoonie?” Soonyoung peeked over his shoulder. The vocal leader stepped forward and pressed a hand against Seungcheol’s forehead.
“Yeah, that feels elevated. And not in the dance practice kinda way,” Jihoon confirmed, reaching for his phone. “Did this really just start now, hyung?”
“I mean… yes,” Seungcheol said around a laugh of disbelief. “And I…” He paused, considering. “I feel fine otherwise. No other clear symptoms. Except…” he placed a hand to his chest, “my heart’s beating real hard right now.”
Soonyoung’s hand moved to rest over Seungcheol’s chest. “Yeah it is.” He pursed his lips. “Maybe it’s stress, then? Maybe your anxiety’s working overtime?”
Seungcheol shrugged. “Why would it, though? I’d get it if we were on a comeback crunch or tour schedule, but a stress fever in the middle of regular times? Feels off to me.”
“Hey, the human body’s a finicky fucking thing,” Jihoon replied, voice soft despite the language. “And we’re not the easiest group to manage, even on a regular day.” He offered both hands out to Seungcheol. “How about I talk to management and see if we can cut your schedule short today? You don’t have to come home, but maybe being somewhere else might help?”
“Somewhere less… member-y,” Soonyoung added as Seungcheol stood with Jihoon’s help.
“Well, that’s not entirely the problem…” They heard a screech through the closed door, followed by cackling laughter. “Okay, maybe part of the problem.”
“It’s okay, hyung, you can admit that we’re the worst sometimes.” Soonyoung clapped Seungcheol on the shoulder with a contrite look on his face. “I know I am usually the ringleader of the problem. I accept this about myself. And, to make up for it, I will personally take responsibility for getting those hooligans back in line today.”
Jihoon snorted. “That’s big of you.”
Seungcheol smiled. “Thanks, guys. I owe you one.”
Jihoon shook his head. “Nah, you cover for us all the time. It’s the least we can do. Now, go somewhere quiet and chill out before your body explodes.” Seungcheol’s smile refused to fade as he watched the practice room door close behind his fellow leaders. Sure, some days were rough. But as long as he had this team by his side, Seungcheol knew nothing could ever be better.

“I’m so sad,” Wooyoung whined in a dramatic whisper, leaning heavily against Hongjoong’s shoulder.
The leader wrapped an arm around him, rubbing his dongsaeng’s shoulder. “I know, Woo.”
“Look at him!” Wooyoung pointed over the kitchen counter towards the den where their sweet Seonghwa was curled up in the arm chair, shaking with another coughing fit.
A month of running between performances, fan meetings, variety shows, interviews, practices, flights, promotional meetings, photo shoots, and paparazzi chases had earned their eldest with a severe case of bronchitis. It had started as a cold that had passed around the group, with Seonghwa diligently doling out vitamins and checking temperatures and ensuring everyone had enough water and medicine to survive the daily schedules. His kindness had been rewarded with the worst of the bug, namely a nasty cough, and landed him in the hospital for chest pains after their (thankfully) last performance. Hongjoong feared the worst; Seonghwa had, after all, broken a rib coughing before, and kept performing in spite of it that time - what would stop him from doing so again? But by some miracle, the chest x-rays revealed no broken ribs… and no signs of pneumonia. Just a terrible bout of bronchitis. The members could handle that.
Especially when Seonghwa was too tired to fight them.
“Hyung, drink,” Mingi instructed, holding a water bottle in front of Seonghwa’s face as soon as the coughing fit was over. Seonghwa didn’t even fight, pulling down his mask and accepting the straw between his chapped lips, drinking slowly. He insisted on wearing the mask, even if the rest of them technically had the antibodies for his bug. They weren’t willing to fight him on that point. It had been the condition for Seonghwa agreeing to move to the recliner in the living room.
“Are we getting close to medicine time?” San asked, peeking at Yunho’s watch instead of his own, since the dancer was consulting it anyway.
“No,” Yunho sighed with a hint of frustration.
“Then why’s he coughing like he’d had no meds at all?” San questioned, voice taking on a hint of annoyance.
“I don’t know, love.” Yunho shook his head. “You maybe want to go refill the humidifier?” San nodded fervently, racing to accomplish said task.
As he reached for the machine, Seonghwa gave a tiny whine. “No….”
“Yes, sweetheart, you need it.” Mingi carded his fingers through Seonghwa’s hair, distracting him from San’s movements.
“But… but…” He took a deep, rattling breath. “Distracting…”
“It’s not distracting us at all, hyung,” Jongho added, taking a seat on the arm of the chair next to Seonghwa. He rubbed at the older man’s shoulder when Seonghwa whimpered again. “What is distracting us, though, is that cough of yours…”
“Jongho…” Yunho chided.
The youngest held up a hand to let him finish. “It’s really worrying us. So it’s not a bother to any one of us to do something that might help you breathe better, yeah?”
Yunho clasped a hand to his heart, unexpectedly touched at Jongho’s soothing tactics.
Normally, a sick Seonghwa was a force to be reckoned with. He could acknowledge that he wasn’t feeling well, but also refused to admit weakness, simply masking up and soldiering on with his scheduled duties. The rest of the group had learned to act as if nothing was wrong, not question him on anything, and make every decision in his favor seem like it was his idea rather than theirs. Yet this time, despite the fact that his fever was relatively low, Seonghwa was absolutely exhausted from the weeks of non-stop action, and the last week of forcing his body to be ‘okay enough’ for appearances. Now that they were home, he had no will power left to deny that he felt awful, and desperately needed his brothers’ help.
So to see Jongho acknowledge Seonghwa’s obvious need for them to blatantly was both shocking and touching, knowing that this was the exact thing that needed to be said to convince their hyung to not cry.
And it worked. Seonghwa simply shifted so that he could press his forehead against Jongho’s arm. The maknae smiled, pulling Seonghwa into one of his rare hugs.
“Just don’t wanna be a bother…” Seonghwa muttered against Jongho’s bicep.
Mingi smiled affectionately, still massaging the eldest’s scalp. “Why would we move you to the middle of the action if we thought you’d bother us?”
“Maybe because we missed your pretty face,” Yeosang added helpfully from his spot on the couch where he was ready to move at any moment to be useful (he also understood the overwhelm of too many people doing things at once, and had therefore taken up a spot on the sidelines to jump in when the time was right).
“Or maybe it’s because we couldn’t get you to stay propped upright in your own bed, and you were basically choking on your own snot, so we had no choice but to set you up out here,” Hongjoong said, waltzing into the room with his hands crossed over his chest. Seonghwa looked up at Hongjoong with a look of annoyance that was utterly ruined by the sickly pallor of his skin and dark rings under his eyes. The captain smirked. “You gonna be able to stay awake long enough to eat the soup Wooyoung worked so hard on?”
Seonghwa simply let his face fall back against Jongho, allowing himself to be soothed by the maknae’s presence (and Mingi’s hands still in his hair).
“Mean, hyung.” Yunho kicked lightly at Hongjoong’s butt, earning an amused snort from the captain.
“He can take it,” Hongjoong replied, tapping Seonghwa’s foot with his own. “Cause Hwa’s perfectly fine, isn’t he?”
“Um-hm,” the eldest muttered.
Hongjoong chuckled. “You’re so lucky we love you so much, you know that?”
Hi I felt like I was that active that much to cheer you on,
I am very sorry it’s exam season during my last year of uni so I haven’t had much time to breathe
I hope get through this writers block
I have an idea for thanksgiving ficlets
Maybe a chuseok fic were a character is too sad that they are too sick to visit their family and that they feel like they made another stay behind to take care of them even though they volunteered too
It can be any duo from any group ( maybe kibum and jonghyun, such an underrated duo even though their moments are so funny and sweet)
You are so fine, love. Best of luck on your exams!!! You got this!!!
I'm gonna hold onto your prompt for another time, solely because that feels like something I would run away with (I LOVE a good sad fic), and right now we're staying short. BUT I can give you a little tidbit with those two guys that I haven't found a place for yet! Maybe it will be the start to a sad lil chuseok fic...
“Here. Chug this.” Kibum threw a bottle of Robitussin on the coffee table, clattering next to the amoxicillin that was nearly empty after passing between four separate people in the past two weeks.
“Oh my god, in 24 hours, I’m giving you the best thank you kiss of your life,” Jonghyun exclaimed, relief evident in his entire body even as he winced in discomfort reaching for the new medicine.
“Um, no. You can kiss me in five to seven business days.”
Minho snorted from the kitchen. “If you haven’t caught it by now, Kibum, one kiss won’t kill you.”
“You wanna make it seven to ten days?” Kibum shot back, head snapping sharply towards the now cackling rapper.
“NooOOOO!!!!” Jonghyun cried, eyes wide in panic.
Jinki cuffed Minho on the back of the head as the rapper continued laughing. “Stop being a menace!”
Hi I was wondering if we can start requesting prompts for sicktember
Hello! Yes, requests for Sicktember prompts are now open cause I am struggling to fill them this time!!! Feel free to send ideas - I cannot promise I will fulfill them, but I look forward to your ideas. Below are the list of prompts, including the alternate fills I have already chosen over some of the given prompts. If it's in a different color, it's already taken 😉
Hi how are you i haven’t been publicly supporting you because of my finals and I apologize for that but just know I will always support you even if I am not loud about it
Here are my asks 🫐,🌻, 🌷
Heeyyy!! Thank you so much!!! No need to apologize at all; I hope your finals are going well!!!!
🫐 a line from a published work that you’re proud of, but no one’s mentioned yet - or if you can’t think of one, an underrated line in general - I have always been OBSESSED with this text exchange from the end of one of my Sicktember 2024 fics ("Great, I Got a Cold for my Birthday"):
Kibum still had yet to respond when Taemin sent another photo, this time of Minho and Jinki cuddled on the couch, with a thumbs up from Taemin in the corner. To this one, he added the text:
Taemin:They won’t let me cuddle 😡
Minho: Cuddles are only for those with the right antibodies 😘
Taemin:The only body I am anti right now it yours
Minho: 😝
🌻 favorite funny quote from a published work - Oh, this was HARD! I genuinely have so much fun writing these fics. But one of my all time favorite lines was probably Jun from "Shower Sniffles" -
“Well, then that means you can sneak right back if you play your cards right.” Jun handed over the tiny cup of amber liquid, and Chan shot it back with little complaint.
He only grimaced a little bit. “That didn’t make a lot of sense, hyung.”
Jun shrugged. “I’m not here to make sense. I’m here to make dollars.”
🌷 favorite sweet quote from a published work - I thought hard about this. Feveruary "Spoon Feeding" came up, as did "It's Because We Love You", but I ended up choosing Feveruary "I wouldn’t even trust you to boil tea in your condition!" The whole first part, with Mingi and Seonghwa, was SO SOFT to write!
“Rest well, sweet one,” Mingi whispered, patting Seonghwa’s shoulder before he stood to leave.
“Love you,” Seonghwa whispered, the first words he’d spoken today. Mingi smiled to himself, giving into the urge to kiss his hyung’s warm cheek before leaving the medicine to work its magic.
I am so excited for sicktember, can’t wait to read what you write
I'm so glad 🥹 I just hope I can deliver on that excitement!!!
Also, you said you had an idea for "worse possible timing," and that prompt has recently reopened because I got a ~similar~ request for my original idea for a DIFFERENT prompt. So... I'm all ears!
As a 95 line lover thank you so much, every time you post a new fic my heart is so happy with how cute they are but this bonus fic easily goes for the top 3 cutest fics you have released this September
And while reading this my mind kept repeating the thought of after everything mingyu when through to get that kiss it would be hilarious is everyone but him caught it( I know wonwoo caught and wouldn’t be surprised if hannie because his immune system is equally as weak and Chan because baby was very clinging caught it as well), literally that would be hilarious
Ahhhhh, thank you so much! I am such a sucker for the 95 line, and it's such a pleasure to write for them. I'm glad to hear how much you enjoyed it!!!
And that WOULD be a very funny, ironic ending to the whole ordeal 😂😂😂
