A single split second was all he needed, the exorcist distracted by god knows what-- He doesn't care, only focused on getting in and getting out as quickly as possible. And out he does get, prize in hand, the samurai's thin sword clutched in his single pale hand. "Hey hey, this thing's kind of puny, isn't it?"
there were few times in the samurai’s life where he let himself relax, where he allowed his shoulders to fall and breathing to even out, and his mind to float off somewhere distant and far away. usually, those times were saved for meditation. the japanese male would sit himself cross legged and straight, breathing slow and steady as he released the tension in his body and focused on nothing and everything all at once. the sounds of the birds in the trees, the rustle of leaves, and a trickle in the stream.
it was the first time since finding him, that kanda allowed himself a moment of peace, setting himself calmly in the yard of whatever cabin they decided to stay at for that evening. to his knowledge, the noah was asleep and this was probably the only moment’s peace he was going to get for a while, so he wanted to take advantage.
kanda was only several minutes into his trance when he was roughly pulled away, shoulders again strung tight, jaw clenched and eyes narrowed. his gaze was heavy on the gleaming gold that was the noah’s, only shifting away for a moment to take note of his mugen in the other’s grasp before flashing back.
“ do you have a death wish? ” the samurai hissed, finding himself slowly raising to his feet, fingers flexing before they clenched into fists. he could summon mugen back into his body and allow the innocence to melt within the other’s grasp, but that would be going about it the easy way.
“ give mugan back, noah. ”
