an objective fact about the halo experience is any campaign that lets you fight alongside Sangheili is better for it. Halo 3 would not be as fun or as memorable if you weren't shoulder to shoulder with the elites, god they're so much fun, god they have so much texture to them. I love Sangheili forever, halo wouldn't be half as good without their stories.

And it doesn't even have to be chief arbiter, I think Spartans and Sangheili are the most peanut butter jelly thing in halo. It's a proven dynamic, it fucks, it has so many juicy conversations and interactions, it's also sick as hell to play and look at

Yes I actually do like how almost every forerunner ancilla was once a living breathing person who had their essence and soul siphoned and immortalised through a digital neurophysical (neural physics!) sublimation process!

Can’t quite believe that my debut novel is on store shelves today! Working on these stories has been a labour of love over the last few years, the positivity and engagement from the Halo community has brought us to this point—Jeff and I couldn’t be more thrilled!

As an anthology that covers such a wide variety of characters, settings, and time periods in the universe, there's a bit of something for everyone in here, and the audiobook features so many incredible narrators.

I know the most obvious answer is “because multiple writers, cracks in the formation, if I didn’t catch it while reading the first few times within each other they probably didn’t notice either”, and I know the mature in-universe interpretation is probably “there *is* something like sarcasm for the Sangheili, it’s just different enough that translators don’t have the proper vocabulary logged” or even the more specific “sarcasm exists, but only in some parts of Sangheili territory / only practiced in certain circles”.

However, I believe the funniest interpretation of Outcasts having Thel have to fight to keep sarcasm out of his tone vs Empty Throne stating through Tul’s POV that there is no word for sarcasm in Sangheili and she’s confused every time humans do it, is “Thel’s social skills have been poisoned by too much interaction with humans”.

I just had a revelation!

It's referenced in Shadows of Reach Kelly listens to Queen. So I truly believe each Spartan has an old earth song/band they fuck with heavy.

Fred - hes definitely a Lincoln Park fan. That or he's really into hype club beats.

Side note: the Spartan III Gamma company definitely introduced Kendrick Lamar to Fred and he fucks with it heavy lol

Linda - honestly think she either doesn't listen to music at all and finds it grating on the ears or she's really into classical music. Either way imagine watching Linda hit a crazy headshot has fucking Beethoven's 9th symphony plays over her helmet coms lol

John/masterchief - honestly is a toss up. Since he didnt know what Queen was in Shadows of Reach he probably doesn't listen to music and if he does I feel John is an old 1920s jazz and blues fan. He'd probably listen to something calm and relaxing. Not classical music but definitely something mellow. (Head cannon to this head cannon. Chief listens to lofi beats as he crushes the skull of a Grunt)
