Three fics I loved in 2023

I read very little fanfic this year but I was lucky to discover some awesome fics (and authors) and I wanted to shout out about them.

a better happier st sebastian by halsinator (fandom: Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell. Ship: Childermass/Segundus)

All their works are fantastic but this in particular stayed with me for the absolutely pitch-perfect yearning.

Historical m/m romance. The author's other romance novellas are great too. Definitely worth a read.

I'm dating the least inquisitive man in Ottawa by GlitterCity (fandom: Game Changers. Ship: Troy/Harris, but also Shane/Ilya)

If you've read and loved Heated Rivalry and the rest of the series, you should def read this one. It's so funny, so in character, an absolute delight.

Desperately Seeking: Halsinator

Are you AO3 user Halsinator, writer of such Childermass/Segundus masterpieces as Hal-an-Tow  and Ten Times Found back in 2015?

Do/did you know them or where they might have gone?

Do you know if, or how, someone might be able to contact them these days?

I am desperate would be delighted to be able to ask permission to podfic some of their Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell stories (and I’m not the only one), but they haven’t answered AO3 comments since 2015, and I could find no podfic policy or contact details for them.

If you have any info - even if it’s a “do not podfic” - I would be super grateful!
