part 1 of the hamilton heroes au: the schuyler sisters!
the circles near the schuylers are tattoos! when the gang formed (more on that later i guess?) everyone got one to mark themselves as a member of the group and identify what their powers were (water, fire and earth respectively for the schuylers). they’re on the inside of their left wrists so kind of like the dark mark or the umbrella academy tattoos because i’m unoriginal like that
more information on the schuylers under the cut!
some notes on their designs:
eliza’s hair is fading at the ends because i thought that exposure to fire could lighten hair but upon further research apparently not
peggy keeps maybe like 50 loose bamboo seeds in that pocket because she can literally just toss them onto the ground and they’ll spring up into this huge wall since her powers technically affect plants too
there’s also always at least one of those edible water bottles in there
i changed eliza’s oufit from what it was last time to the same thing with a cutout shoulder top instead of the off the shoulder ruffles
the end of angelica’s jumpsuit (it took me so long to find that word) kind of trails off into mist if you get what i mean
and now more about the actual schuylers!
their respective ages are 19, 18 and 16
it’s not like a big big part of the story, but peggy has some hearing loss from when the family was roadtripping and eliza’s powers started to manifest (which was out of her control) so generally fire in a car is a surprise, right????? they were all pretty young but the car crashing meant that peggy has a little difficulty hearing, which eliza pins on herself
they grew up in new york in a very very large penthouse with their parents and two younger sisters (catherine and cordelia)
since there are 5 kids in the family, they obviously acted out matchmaker matchmaker from fiddler on the roof a lot growing up
i see this in a lot of writing but i love the proposal of john growing up with the schuylers since they both have senator fathers! so that’s what happened i guess
they have a home in amsterdam and go there for a lot of holidays, so each of them knows conversational dutch
eliza was in girl scouts for a long long time! she still goes camping because hey it’s easier to start a bonfire when you have fire powers. peggy will tag along for the price of several smores.
eliza can’t cook to save her life because every time she cooks she puts music on, which makes her emotions turn up the fire and consequently burn the fried egg
angelica almost never drinks water but when she does it’s pretty much neverending
technically peggy’s powers don’t extend to plants, but she can use the soil nutrients to make them grow faster or slower
angelica discovered her powers a little later on, but she was at the beach when it happened (moana much) and the water went on to become part of the hurricane that got hamilton to new york
