Hamster question
Putting this out there to the tumbleverse. I’ve had my hamster for a few weeks and we’re still in the early stages of getting to know each other. He was very nervous and twitchy when I first got him so I gave him a lot of space, and am now just trying to get him used to my hand being in the hutch. He’s got really curious recently and likes to come and sniff my hand and inspect it and stuff. The only problem is he tries to bite my fingers. It doesn’t seem remotely aggressive, just tentative and inquisitive, but it makes me very nervous and I pull away which startles him a bit. Would it hurt a lot if he did bite me? Should I let him try so he realises I’m not food or is it behaviour I should avoid encouraging? I wash my hands thoroughly with unscented soap before interacting with him so I know it’s not that
