This is a reaaaallly long winded explanation for a rarepair buuuut…so, do you know the song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Encanto? So, I was visualizing the scene but with SDR2 characters instead with Nagito being the titular “Bruno”. Anyways, for some reason, for Pepa’s and Felix’s part, I always imagine Mahiru and Teruteru, complete with dancing because, for some reason, the things Pepa and Felix did in the original scene looked like things they would do. Unfortunately, that got me thinking that…actually they wouldn’t be a bad couple? Sorry for this extremely weird, convoluted explanation.
Okay first off I’ve been making an AMV in my head for “We Don’t Talk ‘Bout Nagito” since the movie originally dropped because IT FITS HIM AND HIS CLASS SO BAD LOL. Class 77 would DEFINETELY break into song just to talk smack about the residential class creep (some of them anyway). Of course, the lyrics will be entirely different but same vibes same vibes. I won’t go into details of what I pictured and of who was in what role here cuz that’ll be too long BUT in my version I had Sonia as Pepa and Kazuichi as Felix because “I’m sorry Ms. Sonia, go ooooon~” would fit so well in that segment lol.
HOWEVER, you have opened my fourth eye cuz Mahiru and Teru would work so well here too! They even have that height difference dynamic. Tall queen with her short king ahaha. Honestly, this is one of those pairings that would definitely take time to get together. Teru’s perviness would 100% set off Mahiru a lot so there would be conflict from the start. But much like how most ships could come together from shared bonding time, this one could do that too. Plus I’d just like to imagine that Mahiru would adore eating Teru’s cooking. With her mom always absent and her father not being much of a parent, pretty sure Mahiru has always had to be the one making meals from a young age, so to finally have someone make a homemade meal for her instead is probably something that would mean a lot to her too. I’d also like to imagine Teru bringing Mahiru over to visit his mom and his mom just mothering up Mahiru and making her flustered because she’s never really had a mom coddle her like this before. Just Mahiru feeling at home with the Hanamuras and adoring the big smiles on their faces haha.
