“Okay, I think that’ll be it for today. But I want you all to pick a book from the cubby to take home and read before next week.” Belle announced as she began to wipe off the chalkboard. Her students began to move to the reading corner of her classroom to select a book. After qualifying as a teacher, Belle had taken a job as a tutor to the primary school aged children of staff who worked at the palace for the royal family. Most of the staff, including Belle, lived in the grounds of the place so the King and Queen paid for the children’s education on site rather than bus them to a school.
There was only a handful of children in her class so she got to create imaginative lessons and focus on each student’s need. “Ah, Chip, you’ve picked The Little Prince, that’s one of my favourites.” She smiled as one of her favourite students approached with a book in hand. As the children filtered out of the class, she noticed a grown up figure standing in the hallway. Belle blinked in surprise, the Prince. “Your Highness, what can I do for you?” She asked, handing the book back to Chip, who grinned at the sight of the Prince.
