@grumpy-auri this is the other version I wrote where Hanze saves Phoebe. Hope you don't mind being tagged twice!
Phoebe knew death was coming for her. The smell and taste of iron in her mouth meant there was too much blood. The voidsent had materialized from thin air, springing upon the first victim it could find. Her katana…. Where had it gone? One moment it had been in her hand, the next it had slipped from her fingers… she skimmed the ground hoping that by some dumb luck she would find it. There was nothing but darkness.
She had been walking on foot in the southern shroud, and let her guard down in familiar settings. Occurrences such as this were becoming more common and attacks by mysterious entities happened most often at night. She should have been paying attention. The monster turned back again, it’s giant blank eyes glaring at her as it bore down on her. She closed her eyes, preparing for her final moment.
The sound of heavily armored boots running in her direction forced her to glance up. A tall figure was running to intercept the giant creature, a greatsword swinging from their grip. The blade met with the voidsent’s head, slicing it cleanly across its neck. The monster’s body fell slack on the ground, dissolving completely into a dark mist. Phoebe reached her hand out towards her savior. As her strength waned and her eyes began to close slowly she weakly called, “ please…. help… me”.
15 january 2017 // day 5 of 100
Wow! Two days in a row, this is a new record for posting (for me at least). Today i worked on civil law, how buying something works (legally) very interesting and very latin-y.
“What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it.”
(Ask from 'Grumpy-auri'. Hanze is a DRK main so use that as you will :3)🛡️ - a starter where my muse protects yours from a fight.
@grumpy-auri: so I’m a nerd and i realized mostly through another version I had wrote that I had mixed up who’s muse did what. So posting here the version where Phoebe saves Hanze (per how I guess the instructions say to? Idk I’m new here lol). If you were hoping for an instance where Hanze saves Phoebe I also have a version of that I can post. Hope you enjoy and sorry for the mix up!
The South Shroud had always been an eerie place to Phoebe. The tree canopy was thick and always seemed to keep the light out. The monsters were numerous there as well, and the wood wailers outposts few and far between. She often found herself on the path to Buscarron’s Druthers, it was one of her common haunts when she was forced to deal with the woods. It was late and she could feel the wear of her journey catching up on her. Voidsent attacks were becoming more common recently, and the last thing she needed was to be attacked in the dark forest alone.
She heard the man’s shouting from the distance, somewhere off the path and into the thickest part of the treeline. She waited, ears twitching to sort the direction of the shouts, until she heard the voice again. She dropped her heavier belongings, and shot off into the forest. Pushing her exhausted muscles further than they begged her to, she shot into a clearing. A tall Au ra man was clawing his way back from a very large voidsent creature. Blood poured from his injured arm, making it difficult to lift the greatsword with his off hand only.
Running as silently as possible, she unleashed her katana. She sprang up into the voidsent’s back, driving her katana deep into the creature’s massive skull. The monster screamed and writhed as she drove the blade to the hilt. It bucked and flailed in an attempt to dismount her, and Phoebe held on for dear life. When it finally fell to the ground, she gave a final twist of her sword before removing it. Tossing the blade on the ground beside the man, Phoebe knelt down to check his injuries. “Are you alright?”
It's already been 5 years since it ended... 🥀🥀🥀
