Haoshi: Clock Series

Could you briefly introduce the clocks designed by Haoshi Design? Clocks are inextricably related to our everyday lives. They give us information about time, and all living things change and evolve around time. There are not many variations in the designs of traditional clocks, but I think we can turn clocks into something richer and more amazing. Therefore, Haoshi Design came up with a series of clocks including Cuckoo Clock、Moon Clock、Goldfish Clock、Swallow Clock and Merry-go-round Clock.

What message would you like to convey through your product? When creating our clocks, we combine two elements: ‘good things’ and ‘joyful time’ together. Time is all about exploring beautiful and interesting things in life. We then realize things existing in the present moment are at their finest. After the passage of time, only vague memories are left behind and these memories may even be forgotten eventually. So we try searching for pleasure in between time. Every clock we design embodies a story. When you hastily take a glimpse at the clock on the wall, it not only tells you the time, it also reminds you of your beautiful memories and things you have once enjoyed.

The themes of your products are always related to nature and animals. Can you tell us more about your motives and inspiration behind such designs? In the hustle and bustle of cities, everyone is leading a restless and hectic life in order to make a living. At the time, time passes by ceaselessly and without anyone noticing. Have you ever stopped for a while, take a good look of your surroundings and experience your present moment? Do you envy the birds up in the sky that can fly freely? We hope that nature can brighten up our busy cosmopolitan lives with our childhood memories and love for nature, so that ‘good things’ and ‘joyful time’ can be shared by everyone.

‘Haoshi’ means ‘good things’. In what ways can products of Haoshi design bring happiness and fulfillment to our everyday lives? Our childhood memories of merry-go-around and curiosity towards worldly things have enriched our daily lives and memories. The Home décors of Haoshi Design encourage us to slow down for a moment, retreat to our most natural and naïve selves, and relish the fulfillment and amazement our lives have given us.
