It'd been almost a week since Zim's initial encounter with the witch. To say it'd left a mark on him would be an understatement. The interaction left him questioning himself for far longer than he should be allowed to. He buried himself in skool activities and small personal projects in an attempt to derail his less appealing thoughts, but they did practically nothing to mask that new, dreadful feeling of uncertainty that was plaguing him.
He feared people were starting to notice, too. The suspicious looks that Dib shot him over the duration of the past few days had felt... different. As to how, Zim wasn't quite sure to explain, but if one thing was for sure, it was that he hated them even more than the looks he normally got from the human.
There was a point where Zim had actually tried reprogramming his PAK to delete whatever nefarious emotions were haunting him, but even that had backfired in a small short circuit, leaving the irken dazed for several minutes until the device on his back had rebooted itself.
And the worst part- the absolute worst part of it all- was that he knew she was watching him from somewhere. He felt her wicked, overbearing presence wherever he went; whatever he did. Whatever she was- whatever power she held- it was impossible for even him to ignore for any great length of time.
His frustration with the situation finally climaxed when he was searching his mind for the information needed to fill out this ridiculous history homework. Why did it matter who the leader of the Confederate States had been? That side had lost. They'd been trounced by the other side, and yet this ridiculous skool system expected him to remember the name of their pathetic leader? So stupid! He accidentally broke the pencil he'd been fiddling with in half, letting out a few vexed grumbles and Irken curses before throwing the writing utensil to the ground and scanning the room.
"I know you're there, you miserable, cheating witch." No reply. "SHOW YOURSELF, you slimy little demon!"
