I grew up in an agnostic family. And while my parents allowed me to explore religion, it wasn’t something I was interested in. I’ve lost a lot of people in my life to suicide, (at this point it’s two former roommates and I’m not going to make a complex out of that...) most of you know, losing @mellorstrummer is one of thee hardest things I’ve endured. Actually, I plainly think I have moved so deep into denial that it’s not quite been a true mourning process for me yet so TBD how hard it actually is. Anyway, tonight I saw @davidbazan from @pedrothelion play a living room show. It was beautiful, and man can he project. I’ve never listened much to Pedro, but “Curse Your Branches” resonated hard with a kid who never fully believed. Now I’ve lost a soul so dear to me that you can’t help but wonder, contemplate, hope, for some kind of after life so the ones you loved have a peace on the other side. He played “Hard to Be” tonight and it meant everything to me. I didn’t know how much I needed to sit in someone’s living room and listen to a beloved figure sing songs about grief, love and uncertainty. #griefishard #loveisworry #davidbazan #pedrotgelion #hardtobe #curseyourbranches #livingroomshow #brittanystrummerforever #strummerforever #love #imissmydeadfriend (at Whittier, Denver) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bw3bVhRFIaV/?igshid=1954jz90cz6tj
