A savory and satisfying Japanese fried rice recipe with a perfect balance of flavors and textures.
Ingredients: 2 cups cooked and chilled Japanese short-grain rice. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. 1/2 cup diced onion. 1/2 cup diced carrots. 1/2 cup frozen peas. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 2 tablespoons soy sauce. 1 tablespoon oyster sauce. 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil. 2 eggs, beaten. Salt and pepper to taste. Green onions, sliced for garnish.
Instructions: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and swirl to coat the pan. Add the beaten eggs and scramble until cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside. In the same pan, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add diced onion, carrots, and frozen peas. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables start to soften. Add minced garlic and stir-fry for another 30 seconds. Add the chilled rice to the pan, breaking up any clumps. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes to heat through. Drizzle soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil over the rice. Mix well to evenly distribute the sauces. Return the scrambled eggs to the pan and mix them into the fried rice. Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting as needed. Continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until everything is heated and well combined. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions. Enjoy your delicious Japanese fried rice!
