▲ – i don’t think that this one is mentioned a lot, but i kind of feel like it needs to be. just because two characters which could potentially become immersed in a romantic relationship with each other, it doesn’t mean they will and it doesn’t mean they have to. they could be really compatible when it comes to being in a relationship like this but that doesn’t instantly mean they’re destined for it. something could happen. maybe one of them changes for some reason, maybe one of them loses interest, or heck, maybe one of them dies. it’s really interesting to explore how a ‘perfect’ ship might fail even if it does seem like the two characters are perfect for each other.

tbh two people who are perfect for each other not actually working out feeds my angst and it really shows that everything isn’t sunshine and rainbows even if you’ve got a puddle and some sunlight to go together.

YESSSS i am a ship whore in every way possible. namazu is an absolute chore to develop romantically though because he’s literally never been shown any love even from like family. but i have FAITH in him because he’s a softie at heart

kotone is shorter than namazu by barely an inch, and he finds it relieving that he can have a conversation with somebody without having to look all the way down at them, or sit down so that it doesn’t feel like they’re on two completely different levels. for this reason, he’s often more relaxed in conversations with her.

whenever kotone’s body gives in to her iron-deficiency and she has trouble keeping herself standing, namazu is keyword: okay with carrying her until she feels rejuvenated enough to stand on her two feet again. he has certainly lifted heavier, so has little issue with carrying somebody else.

both kotone and namazu have a habit of sleeping, so it’s not unusual that namazu will contact her just so they can nap under a tree or chill out together, out of the way of other people. although he enjoys his sleep, namazu’s an early riser, which might be a hindrance to this.

💙 : after the death of his sister, namazu was one to cry often. she perished a long distance from konohagakure, which resulted in the man – fifteen at the time – having to spend nights alone sleeping amongst the tall grass in hopes that the same bandits wouldn’t come by and kill him in his sleep. though he tried hard to remain as vigilant as he possibly could, it proved impossible to hold back tears and he could do nothing but cry silently through the cold, lonesome nights with only the tear-soaked grass to accompany him.

when namazu arrived in konohagakure and enrolled as a shinobi of the village, he learned not to cry. he became trained in hiding his emotions. trained in enduring the pain of holding his tears back. however, there are moments when he must release the emotions he is constantly hiding. some nights he would cry, but not for the death of his sister. instead, he’d shed tears convinced knowing that there could never be a way to change the past.
