    “You’re worrying me.” Huxley admitted reluctantly, keeping things blunt for now. He feels he’s out of options at this point, watching his brother closely. He knows Harry lacks a real bond with CJ & Harriet, but he feebly hopes he’d at least listen to him. The divide between them all is always apparent, but the older had a sense of protectiveness over the younger Hooks. 

“You’re becoming more reckless than usual. What is going on? Don’t lie to me.” He holds back the threat that usually follows such a demand, eyes narrowing slowly as he inspected Harry.

"shit" harry mumbles as he fumbles for his keys, he’d had a long day at work and he just wanted to collapse on his sofa with some takeout. but he couldn’t find his keys, then it hit him, he’d never picked up his keys this morning, they were still on his kitchen counter. harry slumps down by his front door, his roomate wouldn’t be home for another hour or so, he was stuck here for now.

"oh, love, what have you done?"

“…” he struggles, for a moment, to find an answer. his fists are black and blue, matching the bruises that are blooming on his face. one eye is swollen shut, the other looking much too large in comparison.

he knows that of all people, harry would understand. it’s hard to tune your thoughts out when they’re the loudest thing in the world.

“bad day.” is what he settles on. “just a bad day.”
